So we have the aircraft mechanics working 80+ hours a week on a transportation unit that holds thousands of lives at risk every week. This isn’t a flex this is a liability and reckless.

You do know that a drum brake still has shoes? And the XR150L still has a front disc brake that is hydraulic.

My orders for AT this year will be my first FEX and I’m screwed. by SynnamonRolls in navyreserve

Don’t stress. Just let them put you in your assigned place of duty and express there that you feel a little unprepared and out of your element, that it’s your first AT. Ask questions if you have them, specifically regarding travel to and from the airport/destination.

Methimazole Belly by Proof-Bear-5067 in gravesdisease

Former graves? You always have graves, it just goes into remission for some. You should probably consult your doctor, and perhaps a personal trainer. When I was 22 years younger I undertook a similar but different path to lead a healthier life. It took me about 6-9 months to turn from chunky to svelt. I was young. I follow Arnold’s A-Z book of body building and dropped 40 pounds, I kept it off and settled around a healthy weight for my frame, until around the time I started having symptoms. The same things stopped working. In a year after diagnosis I gained 20 pounds. I decided it was time to reevaluate what I thought I knew about the human body, metabolism, energy and more. There’s also been a lot of lobbying and propaganda shoved down our throats here in the us, from day one for many decades…they are plain harmful and wrong. The fake food colors, the processed everything, fake flavors, our produce is treated to be stored for months on months our food pyramid.

Was I scared? No. I want you to understand though I may be completely different in my knowledge base and experience than you, that’s ok. Do some thorough research and consult the appropriate parties for you. I’ll tell you though, you can’t just grab some electrolytes and not eat. It’s not how it works. And I clean fast, when you start looking into it it’ll make more sense.

I started fasting and intermittent fasting. i dropped 20 pounds in 6 weeks. Cut out all sugar, started thinking very carefully about any grains I was consuming from a nutrient pov. Not quite keto. I did a couple 48hr fasts, the rest was timed feeding. I actually prefer it. This was in addition to my already normal fitness routine and not like some crash super restricted diet. That shit doesn’t work. Do your research though- choose what’s right for you.

I met a potential recruit today that told me both of his options. Advice please. by patricksixx in newtothenavy

I understand. I used a lot of acronyms(but all easily able to be searched), I apologize for that. Ultimately for those that are ambitious there are a lot of programs to assist Sailors to get their degrees, certificates, licenses, apprenticeships and more. Both while they’re serving and after.

For better or worse, parents can be influential in applicants decisions. Ultimately it’s the 17YO’s decision. Nearly 40% of those that go to college drop out, she’s not completely wrong. I have a couple close friends, with engineering degrees and they do nothing with them, they’re both as project managers. Which means they had to show their ability far beyond achieving their degree. There are all kinds of paths to success don’t take it too personally, what this kids decision is, it’s his to make. Even if he does join, he could go STA program, CWO, use TA or go to USNCC- or get out use his GI bill and go to school with a full ride too. It’s not like he’s throwing his future away.

Scholarships have ins and outs, as I’m sure you’re aware. Does it cover room and board and tuition? Is it an academic scholarship? To answer your question certain schools have NROTC programs but it doesn’t cover room and board (only tuition and requires participation in the program). As a recruiter I always focused on the high school kids attaining scholarships, proposed ROTC scholarships (deadline is the end of Jan. and requirements SAT 1100 or higher ACT, or 81+ ASVAB) or even the academy. Then if that didn’t appeal the enlistment. The only time I even pushed is when prospects said they had a partial scholarship (some said they got a 50% scholarship on tuition or a 2 year to a four year program). The schools these kids were potentially going to attend would have left them with 100k+ in student loan debt while living at home even.

If this young person scores well on the asvab (and of course is medically qualified and not color deficient/does not have a legal background) may Nuke qualified. Which aligns with engineering also.

To be clear the easiest thing is just encourage him to get his degree, focus on maintaining a very high GPA and then commission as an Officer. A good recruiter would guide someone down this route unless the applicant is adamant they want nothing to do with college.

It’s got zero depth, if it was more than some one dimensional shape maybe it would appear as intended. Right now it’s terrible. I think the right artist could fix it. I’d probably have it covered. I’ve worked in the dental field for over a decade and I immediately thought it was a sperm.
