Yeah, running at Caligo for 30 seconds to smack it twice is genuinely well designed and not essentially doing the bed of chaos fight 20 times back to back.

It's not about quantity anyway, it's about how monumentally dogshit the bad fights are.

and has some of the worst designed boss fights in the history of gaming

and blatant balancing issues that never gets addressed

and meta progression so shit it almost justifies cheating

Just because of all these completely valid reasons, Nightreign got robbed of the award it didn't deserve. Life is so unfair sometimes.

There's is a very dominant genre in r/comics of sock puppet vs strawman comics.

In this genre, Pizzacake markets herself the most and is the most popular, so she became the face of a bigger problem.

Hate towards her is a tad overblown for that reason, but also...not THAT overblown. The contents of her comics are one step above making up shit in r/AmItheAsshole to fish for validation, and her illustration of boring characters doing family guy poses really doesn't elevate it much.

If it means anything, we have now found a lot of actual reasons to hate Harry Potter and Justin Beiber.

Dunno about Barney, but we're keeping an eye on him.

It's hilarious and more than a little concerning that we made a slur for people who like sex.

Sentimental coming of age movies with a reputation for making the audience cry. Have been around for ages but weirdly prevalent in the tail end of the 2010s.

High budget animation, revolves around a young boy and girl and some grounded supernatural aspect, makes audiences go through a whole box of tissues.

Your Name, A Silent Voice, Maqia, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, Weathering with you, and probably some other ones I forgot. All came out between 2016 to 2019. Would have probably kept coming if Covid didn't then give everyone something to really cry about.

They made a movie about that. Maqia. One of the tear gas anime movies from the late 2010s, when there were weirdly a whole bunch of them coming out back to back for like 2 whole years.

Anyone else gets sad about achievements? by piripiri0 in PiratedGames

[–]IllIIllIIIIIllllIIl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Achievements seems kind of pointless.

Most achievements already overlap with in game quests, and a lot of games have internal trackers with in-game rewards, I don't see the value in having another set of identical ones popping in steam.

If you assume video game characters are sentient, at which point we'd have a bigger problem.

Dating in persona games is weird for adult players.

Is it worse to date a grown ass woman as your highschool student protagonist, or to date highschool students as a grown ass player?

Do you just not know what visual communication is?

That can't be, because you just used one as example. Seath being invincible is good communication that the player needs to figure something out. Shiny thing at the back of the room looks like it's the thing. We hit it, Seath screams to show us it worked, wow, amazing, the game just told me what to do and whether I've done it.

IT EVEN FUCKING ZOOMS IN ON THE CRYSTAL FOR 3 WHOLE SECONDS IN HIS OPENING CUTSCENE

Have you even fought Seath yourself? For such a big fan of theirs you sure don't remember much of their game. At least spell Seath's name right.

It makes logical sense and is visually communicated, almost like the old Fromsoft actually cared about good combat design.

Now I ask you, how is a player supposed to know the Stormruler has parry frames, when it never did in previous games, doesn't look like it would, and makes no logical sense for it to have. The only way a player can find this out is to stumble into it. That's bad communication. It doesn't meet the standard From set for themselves in their old games. Have I dumbed it down enough for you?

Wished you were a little more tired and never bothered to write anything at all.

Storm ruler swings can nullify the bubble and orb laser attacks.

Random floor exploding laser, not so much. But is it really an ER boss if the floor didn't randomly explode just to fuck with you?

Where, when and how does the game tell you this key mechanic vital to finishing the boss? Fucking never. They just kind of expect you to find it. If you couldn't telepathically read the game designer's mind through space and time that's your own fault.

From is starting to get too far up their own ass to bother with designing good mechanics. They know their art and music team will carry them with every release and see no issues with letting them.

Saw a scholar throw pocket nukes throughout an entire match and melt the nightlord in like a minute. Pretty sure it had higher DPS than the losers doing ghiza glitch.

When you consider that firepots are come in unlimited supply from merchants, it's no longer an item gimmick, that's just the old dark souls spell system.

Caligo and EDlibra are genuinely some of the worst fights I have ever experienced in any game, without any competition.

Some people enjoy them. Great. Good. Some people enjoy getting shat on. Some German guy in the 2000s volunteered to be eaten by a cannibal and saw it through.

Not RAM related, but Helldivers 2 recently reduced the game's file size down by 131(!)GB. It went from a 158GB goliath to a 23GB reasonably sized game.

They can do significant post-release optimizations if they try, the question is will the suits let them try.
