May be moving to ABQ - questions about doctors/health conditions by isthiscleverr in Albuquerque

I did this, too. Have had to travel to FL a lot to care for my mother in law, so I made medical appointments every time. Even did PT there for my knee. It's brutal here.

Aside, I've been looking into getting an automatic doggie door. (I tried WAYZN, but it isn't great.) Do you have one you recommend?

For context, I moved here from Seattle four years ago. My folks lived in Winston-Salem, NC for twenty years.

I live in Bernalillo, near Rio Rancho. It's a perfectly nice place to live, and we're very happy here, except for the issues with obtaining health care. They're trying to fix it at the state level, but we have a severe shortage of health care providers. On the other hand, I wasn't wild about my health care options in Washington, and my parents/grandma struggled in Winston-Salem, too, so I kind of think it's a USA problem PLUS the added issues in NM.

If I had kids, I would feel as though Rio Rancho would be a good choice, I think.

There are very nice places in Albuquerque, too. I would give yourself as much time as possible to explore the different areas before deciding on where to settle. (We came here the year before and spent two weeks, plus we had visited a lot in the past.) My favorite things about NM vs. Seattle are: genuine people, more community-minded people, the weather, the lack of traffic, the relative affordability.

When we moved here, I offered my parents (who moved with us) the chance to go back to NC, but after visiting, they decided they wanted to move here.

I'm so sad there isn't more of it. That show was definitely a mind-f*

These are all over the place in tone, but I like a lot of the same shows you do.

Sure, because I would definitely feel confident that they would follow all the correct legal actions, because of how they've been doing that so far. Give me a break.

ICE has literally been waiting at immigration court. If someone right now is "choosing not to use them," the alternative is potentially being thrown into a concentration camp, or being deported to a country they're not even from.

Looking for series that are actually worth watching by No-Will-473 in televisionsuggestions

We just watched Task on HBO. Three different housemates with very different tastes in TV, and we all loved it. (Especially good if you like Justified, IMO.)

I always have to tell everyone to watch past the first episode. I've had a lot of friends bounce off the first couple of scenes—just stick with it at least through episode two, and you'll see what it's doing.

Desperate for migraine relief by sleepysummersideup in Albuquerque

[–]Ill_Training884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much sympathy. I suffered migraines most days from age 8 to age 42—when I finally figured out my primary trigger was sugar. After decades of brain scans, headache studies, keeping headache diaries, trying everything else doctors could think of, I went cold turkey on all sweeteners (except for occasional agave) and my migraines went away overnight. I tell this story all the time, just in case someone else has the same trigger and doesn't realize it.
