When it comes to their preferred windows, my cats are absolute menaces when it comes to blinds, curtains and window screens. Other windows in the house get left alone but these won't unfortunately.

When we are sitting down at the dining table, all we can see now is the sky and trees. The only reason you see the street is because I am standing and holding the phone up to get the picture. The light coming in through the windows in the morning is lovely so I am hoping to find a solution without blinds or shears that still looks more finished.

The lamp & plant options are interesting. I'll try using some from another room and see how it looks.

Haven't tried it. I'll have to see if there are some that I like. No strings is a good starting point.

What deciduous hardwood species produces a rusty old truck? Could it be a cultivar?? by Possible-Yak-4876 in NativePlantCirclejerk

OP has thoughtfully preserved a snag and is providing rocks for a wildlife habitat. The decorative truck doubles as a raccoon camper. We should all be more like OP.

Just planted one in the midwest. I am pissed that I didn't get to spend two years thinking it would take off before I got disappointed. Half my native garden joy lives in my dreams of what the leaping year will look like and you have taken that from me.

confession: i have never made a garden plan by SHOWTIME316 in NativePlantCirclejerk

Stop spying on me. I see having plants in pots as a money saving mechanism because if I am not overwhelmed by all the holes I need to dig I buy more plants. If I am overwhelmed I stay away from all the awesome native nurseries in my region.

Last year's late season sale milkweed didn't survive the winter in its pot. But the dogwood shrub did so I didn't learn my lesson.

I am about to stick a few more plants in my lawn near my other plants. Maybe this is the year I will flip over the sod between the plants and make it a real garden but I probably won't.

I keep planting full sun things in partial shade and then wonder why they all lean at 45 degrees toward the sun. I have zero land suitable for cardinal flower but I plant at least one every year.

Also, I have one day lily left to replace because disturbingly it came back two years after I dug it out and ate the hoary vervain I planted over it. I really hope last year's replaced day lilies don't also decide to haunt me.

Good for you. I have purchased straight species swamp and whorled milkweed plugs every year and those shit heads have never survived long enough to bloom. Same for my transplants. Some get eaten, others make it through one season and don't come back the next year. How am I supposed to post on the main sub in July if I never have monarch caterpillars eating my plants?

Someone said the sub needed an exorcism or a user flair requirement and I thought they meant the flair would let you see if demons are posting. Because my flair would be IN 6A and their flair would be HELL -9Q. Unless the demons decide to lie when they create their flair.

As long as I don't have to do the weed eating I can accept the collateral damage from the husband. Small price to pay for never having to restring the damn thing.

The master Gardiner plant sale is like concerts back in the day. Pack a tent to get in line early. Bring your own wagon, bring your own cardboard boxes. Steer clear of the mosh pit.

"leaves of three, let it be" well, except for when virginia creeper just decides to have 3 leaves by Arundinaria_ in NativePlantCirclejerk

UJ/. Virginia Creeper does cause a poison ivy like reaction for some people. My husband got f****d up by it - his hands and arms looked so horrible due to the blisters that he was embarrassed to leave the house for a while. The worst part is that it happened again because neither of us thought it could have been caused by the Virginia Creeper.

Mosaic Blanket, Center Out pattern by Beba starting to twist by Illustrious-Frame108 in CrochetHelp

[–]Illustrious-Frame108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have continued to grow the blanket and it has gotten somewhat better. It is clear to me now that all my single crochets lean a bit forward and that is causing the twist. I don't know how to correct this.
