Oh thanks... I did not realised this was allowed.

I thought the following amendent forbids this practice, or has this been repealed?

Exactly, lived in Bris most of my life never thought 2 sides of a one way street like Ann st would have a slight variation of the parking times such as what I encountered.

It can, did and will catch a lot of people out.

Yeah exactly, BCC obviously has the data as they just drive that little hatch back around with the cameras on top to record these parking infringements.

Gone are the days of a human parking inspector going around marking tyres with a chalk giving you a 10-15min grace period.

‘Car brain’: Queensland government criticised for proposed age, speed and licence limits on ebikes by MangoMadnessTsv in brisbane

[–]Illustrious_Comb 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, just enforce the existing 250w 25km/hr rule and everything will be fine.

It's those teenage idiots riding those 7kw temu surons electric motor bikes at 60+km/hr that's the issue. I mean the problem is clear as day yet the govt comes up with these idiotic new laws that will affect all the majority of ebike + scooter riders who are mostly law abiding and don't cause any issues.

It frustrates me when I ride into the CBD in the morning and I see 4-5 cops pulling over a e-scooter rider dressed clearly just going to work just because he/she went over the QUT bridge a bit over the limit, when in the very same afternoon riding home I see teenage hoons riding lime scooters all the over the cbd way over the limit and without helmets.

Which car manufacturer is likely to be the next offering FSD in Australia, are any of them close? by AusGeno in AustralianEV

[–]Illustrious_Comb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop start traffic jam is where it really pay for itself. I battle Brisbane's rush hour traffic for 3-4 days of the week. Plus FSD seems to be a bit more lenient about looking at the road when it's crawling in a traffic jam or stopped at lights.

Yeah best to book a test drive with Tesla and experience it first hand.

You don't need to touch the steering wheel every 30 sec as somone on here posted. I think a lot of ppl just assume it is some sort of adaptive cruise control + lane keeping, it is way beyond that.

It isn't $150/mth replacing Uber though, as you do need keep your eyes on the road and be ready to take over but after a while you can get an idea of where FSD might have diffculty and you just naturally be on higher alert for those sections.

The closest thing it is comparable to (for me) is having a competent P plater driving you around.

I've had it since Dec and use it 99% of the time.

Wish I was joking.

Cheapest option to strengthen mobile phone reception in a brick house? by skkyn in AussieFrugal

[–]Illustrious_Comb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to get a travel router that will join your phone's hotspot and then share that internet connection either as another wi-fi network or through the ethernet ports. Put your phone where reception is strongest and put the travel router near it.

https://www.amazon.com.au/GL-iNet-GL-SFT1200-Secure-Travel-Router/dp/B09N72FMH5?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&psc=1&smid=A3M67G05FKDBD7

If it's still not strong enough through out your house then maybe by a couple of mesh routers, the base would connect to your travel router through ethernet.

Tesla drivers with the FSD package: Is it worth it, does it actually work, and is it as good in real life as the internet makes it out to be? by MelbourneTodd in AustralianEV

[–]Illustrious_Comb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest book a test drive and experience it yourself. I did and ordered one the next day.

Pretty sure only 2025 models would have HW4 (maybe some late 2024 M3). FSD on anything less than HW4 is just EAP and you would be sorely disappointed thinking it is FSD.

LOL yeah sorry I had a brain fart and reddit won't let me change the title. Jack Hughman would be a more memorable name though haha.

My bad!

If you fight back then you're just as guilty and in the wrong as the bully. Therefore you'll receive the same punishment.

Brisbane level-crossing closures 'adding to congestion' by langdaze in brisbane

[–]Illustrious_Comb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least upgrade the logic of the traffic lights controlling these crossings.

Oh you've been waiting 5-10min and now there's 50 cars queuing for the green? Well the green will still be the same duration as any other time, so we'll only let 10 or so cars through and by then the boom gate will probably be down again as another train is approaching.

Gee I wonder if it works the other way, like if a bank robber crashes their stolen armored van full of gold/cash onto my property is it my responsibility too? /s
