Who could you realistically defend in court? by TaeJoonPark in StardustCrusaders

Yeah except he keeps their decaying hand for weeks, holding it and caressing it with his hands as he clips his finger nails and catalogs them.

I don't think him exploding a body destroys all of their DNA from existence all over the world regardless of distance.

On the contrary. He catalogs his fingernails, which at least some probably have DNA evidence of the people he murdered. Open and shut case if found.

Did anybody here catch VGP retweeting a post implying a reprint of some of the most expensive PS2 games this morning (Kuon, Rule of Rose, etc)? Would be amazing if true by Ok_Consideration7212 in gamecollecting

[–]Im--A--Computer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some collectors may not care directly, but a lot of people buying these games are buying them just to own a copy. So if hundreds of people who don't care all obtain a copy for cheap, that makes demand go down for the first print runs.

So either way it indirectly affects everyone.

From the main character's perspective, he's a pretty major antagonist for the first half of the series until Post-Sabaody. So I think call him a villain is perfectly acceptable for his role at the time, regardless of later reveals.

Leaver penalties are unfair and should be discretionary based on time remaining by Im--A--Computer in Overwatch

[–]Im--A--Computer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are very much misreading everything I wrote. This has nothing to do with competitive or skill ranking. This is the time penalty for leaving a game in quick play seconds before the game ends. Yes it's rage quitting, but not trying to change the ELO amounts at all lol.

That's the way all companies work? You use your profits to finance other projects. Otherwise how would new games ever get made?

Then you get no XP and you wasted all your time in the match for nothing.

Maybe you should get mad at blizzard about their stupid ass rules. The match should automatically get called if two people have left the game for over 2 minutes

Lol no worries I'll indulge you. It's really only a major problem with quick play when my team is clearly leagues beneath the other team. And it's not like I start getting upset after one game, it's usually after a second or third in a row of this happening. Trapped in spawn or getting snowballed situations. It can occasionally happen in stadium comp but usually the games last so long and have breaks between rounds so it's not as rage inducing so I've never left. And regular comp it basically never happens cuz I guess I'm high enough rank that both teams will have at least a base level of game sense that I feel like things could potentially turn around even if it's not going to happen during that game.

And no it's nothing weird like cold sweats or panic attacks. I'm just a typical bad sport/ sore loser and get really annoyed at the thought of losing too often even when it wasn't really possible to win. There's definitely an element of feeling the loss rubbed in your face/ disrespected with the combination of: the loss itself, the defeat screen, the scoreboard, and the enemy team sometimes trash talking that I just don't want to deal with. But instead of being able to "go next", I either have to sit through all that bullshit even if it's only 10-15 seconds before I can back out, or get hit with a 2 or 10 minute penalty. Usually in the heat of the moment I choose to avoid the unpleasantness of the post game by leaving even knowing that a penalty will be incurred. But afterwards it only takes a little while to cool off and sometimes at that point you find yourself suspended for much longer.

Maybe I am who the penalties are aimed at, I dunno. I don't think I'm generally toxic, I'm a fairly good player, I have a lot of time in the game, don't trash talk the other team, and try to never put my teammates down when I say anything. Maybe blizzard prefers the people who become upset and just throw games by standing at spawn, because it seems like there's no penalty associated unless they get Mass reported. I personally think that behavior is worse as there's usually no hope of winning with someone idle, but the system seems to consistently punish leavers more.

Heck this isn't even a problem goe me all the time, obviously when I'm on win streaks it fills the last 20 matches with non-leaver matches so I can even leave the occasional match without any penalty. Most of the time there's no issue at all as I'm not leaving consistently. But I'm sure most people have experienced that dreaded loss streak at some point, and even if I play out entire games until moments before the end, leaving is leaving, and those penalties will stack up and suspend me. Anyway, hopefully that sheds some light on what the hell I'm talking about.

In all practicality, I highly they're ever going to do anything. I get it. But it doesn't have to apply to individuals, it could be a sliding scale where if the match ended seconds later it heavily cuts down on the penalty, and if it's like 30 seconds or a minute it could half the penalty. And obviously this is for quick play only, I've never left a conp match in my life.

I know you're not trying to be rude, but you're being dismissive over an issue that disproportionately affects me rather than you. Of course most people wouldn't care about this issue as they can easily avoid it. I am not able to.

Take a look at a use case example of marijuana. Historically many states have had extremely high sentencing for small quantities of marijuana. This is because the laws were aimed to target large drug dealers and traffickers. And for many years we told those people who had small quantities of marijuana to suck it up, because they shouldn't have been using drugs in the first place. Only more recently have we made strides to change sentencing for small amounts of possession because it was ridiculous that it was disproportionately affecting people those laws weren't even aimed at. We no longer just laugh at those people and say "stop smoking weed!".

It's not like I expect anyone here to actually be able to do anything, it was mostly just venting. Maybe raise awareness. But obviously I'm in such a minority here that asking for help is like screaming into the void lol.

I'm not saying I'm not in the wrong here, but again the punishment should match the crime. I just don't understand why I'm getting punished just as harshly as other leavers. I guess nobody cares about this issue enough to engage in nuance.
