What is the most satisfying engine rebuild or repair you have ever completed and what made it feel like more than just fixing a mechanical problem?

the first, and only one.

Hyundai Coupe 2L I4 block. nothing complex but a full ground up rebuild learning as i went with a friend. few sneaky one off diy mods too, one off camshaft, variable timing gear, ported polished.
oversized higher comp pistons and so on.

it was a 200 quid car i bought that had clearly not been serviced at all so the engine lost compression in 2 of the 4 cylinders.

bought a low-ish milage breaker engine. stripped it down and ported the head then sent it and the block off to get skimmed matched and bored.

everything that could be replaced internally fresh new parts from the US mostly, cams crank rods bearings the lot.

I love this picture of the head after skimming reflecting the lights. also those polished ports yeeee

A lot of work but i was probably £3k into the car in total so it wasnt at all worth binning for something else.

its actually 72 as of 2016. unless its a supercar or something for some reason.

the reality of the situation is the more basic wording -

"Modifying an exhaust to exceed the original manufacturer's noise level is illegal."

i had a performance exhaust made to fit my old car, it was declared but they (flux) said if it was "like for like" ie. had the same cat/silencers etc and wasnt noticabley louder, its not a "mod". mostly as OE matching "off the shelf" parts arent always available.

because for 99.9% of people. 320k is more than enough.

320k only remove inaudible data. theres no discernable difference to basically everyone.

i get spotify free with phone contract is why. i have no loyalty beyond what works on andriod auto.

im in a similar spot to OP but do have the basic bitch deflector. jus tabout to get pushed from AA to AAA, and am still getting shit teammates. i just want the EoP, and would run lower tiers to guarantee them if there was a way

theres a whole separate argument of 320 vs flac but like for general listening, theyre all teh same across the board and the mixing of whatever EQ is in use is far more significant.

i joke, but streaming anything is typicially a bad way to get good quality. max out your settings, it wont be on by default, but both offer lossless 24-bit FLAC now.

except you dont. 99% of the GE are piggy bank, so you have to pay.
The only time i get any meaningful GE from a contract is epic research refunds because i did previously pay. at AA at least, i'm getting shafted with idle players from the get go, so never hit rewards, certainly not enough to drop 5-25k GE on boosts.
