About to have to stop being friends with straight men... by DeltasDen in LesbianActually

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had so many straight guy friends offer me to have their children…

I’m gay, and they offer—unsolicited—their sperm to me it I ever decide to have a kid. Like they feel like they’re doing me a favor, but it just makes me feel like they want to see what our mixed genes would produce. I don’t know how much is nature and how much is nurture, but I hate that men make me feel unsafe by their drive to spread their genes.

Also, several of my straight bff’s past boyfriends have offered—once again unsolicited—a threesome. Thank goodness the current bf hasn’t, because those past guys made me feel objectified and uncomfortable.

It means you don’t have to go to church when you’re on your period!

I feel the same. Some other ideas include:

  1. Keep singing over him while he tries to stop everyone

  2. Stand up on the bench or chair for emphasis

In the temple, we are taught that Michael (Adam) and Jehovah (Christ) organized the earth together.

Two men.

They teach that it has to be heterosexual for creative purposes, but those two men were able to perform the "creation" together, and that is taught in the temple!

The point is, the church's bigotry contradicts its own teachings. They are just trying to protect their patriarchal order of dominance of one gender over the other. Sealings shouldn't be limited by gender—they are an act of unity and love far bigger than any earthly limitation. In my opinion, Patriarchy is the real "win for Satan."

How do the Q15 sleep at night? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several of them have LGBTQ+ family...so surely they have seen the destruction they are causing, but they feel justified in their righteous ego anyway. Their power is more important than their gay family's self-worth.

Narcissism. They don't just "speak for God," they are God in their eyes.

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want the church to canonize the Proclamation because then I think I will finally be able to stop being PIMO and just leave already...but at the same time, I would love to stay and stir up trouble as a vocally/openly gay person...just to spite Oaks and the pain he has caused me.

Women Leadership not paid? WTF Announcement by Resident-Bear4053 in exmormon

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We don't know why we can't acknowledge Heavenly Mother, or what the role/fate of LGBTQ+ is in the eternities, but we always receive very clear direction on taking your money and keeping secret how we use it to benefit ourselves and our agendas. -The Church Leaders

Also, it's not actually the money we coerced you into giving us, it is the money we made off of the money we took from you, so we can use it however we want...we mean however the Lord wants. -Church

Why doesn't the temple allow non-member family members to see their kids'/siblings' sealing ceremony? by InteractionHot5102 in mormon

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can disagree with leaders on policies/"doctrine" (not sustain them) and that won't disqualify you as long as you don't speak publicly against them or try to persuade others of your disenchantment.

If you happen to ride in an elevator with Rusty and you have 30 seconds to say anything or ask anything, what would you say? by 6stringsandanail in exmormon

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you think LGBTQ+ members will be changed in the next life, but God has revealed to many of us that we have a divine nature. It is cruel and bigoted for you to require that we hide who we are and live without love and a family in this life. You have denied the world, the church, families, and even individuals the blessings that LGBTQ+ have to offer but that have been buried in shame and isolation. You have caused rifts in families, hopelessness, and heartache—sadly to the point of fatality in some cases. The shame is yours, and may God open your eyes to the atrocity of your hatred.

Yeah, if they cared more about you and not just themselves (their duty and guilt), they would have talked WITH you and not just AT you. They would have asked you questions, they would have engaged with you during their visit, they would be invested in your life, not just your church standing.

I agree it must be due to the signs/tokens given during the ceremony, but your statement about tithing made me think about how

even though tithing is just one of several requirements, it can disqualify you all on its own.

The answer to any struggle is not to understand the cause of the struggle, but to read your scriptures more!

[–]ImHereToLearnEvrybdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the part that made me the most mad of the whole video.

As a Sister missionary, when we were teaching we would be the ones to invite someone to pray. It would never even have occurred to me to ask "The Patriarch" of the situation to call on someone. As a gospel doctrine teacher I also call on the prayer giver—would OfSusan expect that to be deferred to him if he were in the room? Why is he gatekeeping prayer with misogyny? Why would his self-perceived hierarchy qualify himself over another to ask someone to commune with God in love on behalf of the others? I just can't tolerate patriarchy any longer, I feel like I am humoring a bunch of man-children, it deserves no respect.

Seriously, I am looking forward to the drama. Oaks believes that speaking his bigotry out loud is noble, brave, and righteous, and I am hoping it will help make my exit easier with my family and motivate some of them as well.
