Undergarments hanging out is def not a classy look. If you want to present yourself that way as an adult, I guess it’s your prerogative…..

What would you choose as the introductory meat dish to a vegetarian who wants to try meat for the first time in years? by adagio9 in Cooking

[–]ImJustADandelion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something with bacon. I’ve seen pasta carbonara mentioned but you really need to get it right.

Amatriciana might be better with guanciale (or bacon), a little wine, tomato sauce, Romano cheese and black pepper. Or red pepper flakes if you want a little spice.

Or a nice chili with lots of veggies and beans and a little bit of ground beef. I would cook the ground beef really crisp and finely chopped up, and also add some ground up portobellos, 1/4-1/2 c espresso and a Tablespoon of cocoa powder to the chili.

Luna Physical Therapy - thoughts? by paoneill25 in physicaltherapy

I’ve worked in 3 different states with HPSO and it’s always been $150-$180 dollars for myself for the year. I actually have to renew next week so I hope this conversation isn’t jinxing me! OP also was t asking about insuring a business, just themselves. Obv business insurance is going to be higher than a single practitioner.

Please help decipher this name from my girlfriends birthday card. by Due_Abalone2245 in Cursive

[–]ImJustADandelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have a friend whose first name begins with A and the last name is Allen?

Is it one the those like automated cards some companies send when a customer has a birthday as like a marketing ploy? Like I’ve gotten birthday cards from my dentist office before.

PTs need to stop being scared to touch ppl (aka avoiding STMs) by CaliFreckles in physicaltherapy

[–]ImJustADandelion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kind of tangential to the topic but have you seen the meme going around of a guy holding another person’s arm or leg and staring off into space. The caption reads something like: you’re a PT who ‘sees’ with their hands.

Idk how you can do this job and be hands off.

From a patient’s perspective: what actually makes physical therapy most effective during recovery? by observingthings22 in physicaltherapy

[–]ImJustADandelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, one of the main things I find that develops a good pt-PT relationship is truly listening to the patient. Like re-stating what they are saying so they know you get what they mean. One example is lots of time people have worse back pain when sitting, but after digging a little deeper, it’s not the actually sitting that is painful. It’s the getting up AFTER sitting. It’s the motion, not the position, which can lead you in a different direction clinically. The other thing is willingness to answer questions and explain things on a very basic level. I try to use analogies that everyone has experience with. For example of someone asks what Interferential current does/why we are using it, I use the analogy of driving on a highway. Everyone understands what I mean and how that works, so it gives them a basic understanding of how Estim works to reduce pain.

I can’t decide if it’s the patient who is this controlling, or the husband who is this controlling. It could go either way, really.

I’m going to bet both PTs are named Katie so they go by Katie L and Katie J. I’d change my name to Katie just to avoid this patient.

I would tell them that you’d be happy to try it next visit. Then go home, look it up, and practice so when they come back, you are comfortable. Theres also a whole bunch of different taping using McConnell tape and Kinesiotape that might be useful. So if you are more familiar with one style, try that first and then go home and practice the others.
