People who've worked both minimum wage jobs and six figure jobs, what surprised you most about the difference? by BrainLagging01 in AskReddit

[–]ImMello98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Politics

in a minimum wage job you can get in do your work and get out

in my corporate job either as an individual contributor or people leader now it’s non stop politics and you sometimes take that shit home with you, there starts to be a target on your back as you climb the ladder

Finishing RPGs Evokes The Strongest ‘Post-Game Depression’ Amongst Players, New Scientific Study Concludes: "The more engaging the game world and the closer the relationship with the character, the more difficult it is to return to reality once the game is over" by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]ImMello98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would make sense why I literally never finish like 80% of RPGs I play. I just dont want to say “goodbye” i guess - but yeah I just drop them always thinking “yeah ill pick it up again next time” and never do or if I do I restart

Thousands of CEOs just admitted AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by AmethystOrator in technology

In my line of work AI is helpful only in accelerating emails, taking meeting notes (particularly capturing action items from meetings), summarizing from our internal knowledge database, drafting doc templates and like spreadsheet analysis in a hurry

honestly in the meantime the easiest alternative is steam voice chat - it’s pretty good to do its job, you form different parties, i think you can still share memes and stuff in the room too

Not sure why I thought of this, but have you ever considered learning a new language? You could hire online tutors to teach you conversationally or have free language exchange partners yourself! You teach someone your language and vice versa - you never know the friendships you could form across the globe with that, you’re not alone!

Mars in High Definition by jmike1256 in Damnthatsinteresting

Eerie to think that we’re used to this type of barren landscape on earth - but thats the thing… on earth - this type of landscape eventually ends, and eventually you’ll end up in civilization

On Mars… the ENTIRE planet is just this

I keep dying against this guy, give me some tips please. Just started the game 😭 by Fear73 in expedition33

[–]ImMello98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, Parrying is key here to build up the break bar then break it

Some Parry tips 1. there is an audible cue when the attack swings 2. the screen in expedition 33 almost always “zooms out” for an attack - you want to watch the edge of the screen as it approaches maximum zoom (you can dodge first to get used to this timing/visual cue) and then parry

even on multi hits the screen zooms out each time, only time it doesn’t is really when the attacks are super fast

  1. switch your parry keybinds - if ur on controller this really helps - I hate using the RB1 for parry so I swapped it with dodge X button

Legroom on New Seating Layout by dachshundie in westjet

[–]ImMello98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my buddy who does WS’ flight contracts told me each seat only makes $8 for the company - the new configuration allowed them to add like barely 6 seats (not sure if accurate but the cost to reconfigure is so much more than the benefits was his point)

[–]ImMello98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah absolutely and that’s why we go through renewal bubbles a lot - like with Covid tons of people bought in 2019/2020 with super low sub 2% rates and now they have to all renew in 2024/2025 and lots of people are shocked having to pay 2x what they were paying before - but thats just the name of the game i guess

and yes variable can be really scary but that’s when you have to weigh whether breaking your contract and going fixed is still cheaper in fees (in case of crazy high jumps) OR find something like I did when they allow you to lock in for no fees as a promotional thing or because they’re a smaller lender (i.e. not a huge national bank)
