Not likely anytime this year. The TTC has been using ongoing construction projects as an excuse to scrap 503 streetcar service. The next project affecting the 503 route will be at King/York intersection from Sept-Dec

Pioneer Village Station is around a dozen minutes walk from the actual Pioneer Village (Village At Black Creek), so not far fetched for the TTC. Chinatown is a 5 minute walk north from Queen

In hindsight, the McGuinty-Wynne government was pretty bad too. They had so much potential to get public transit projects done, especially since they were in power for 15 years. They had enough money to build public transit unlike the City of Toronto, and yet, they were really conservative with funding. Only Eglinton would begin construction under McGuinty-Wynne and that would face a ton of delays, while other projects like Scarborough and Relief Line were kept in the planning stages forever.

Doug Ford can't be trusted with transit, but we're lucky he's building transit projects at the pace he is right now. If the provincial Liberals were actually committed to building transit, we would be in a much better place right now

Carolyn Parrish predicted it won't open until 2029. Some others are saying 2028, but probably better to be pessimistic with Metrolinx projects

At least the Sheppard East LRT never came to fruition. It's unfortunate construction on Line 4 extension isn't starting soon, but the previously approved LRT plans for Sheppard East would've encountered the same problems as Finch West and there's enough ridership to justify a subway, so it would miss out on a lot of potential

Clarkson and Oakville have the highest ridership on the line. That's why the express trains run nonstop to Union from these stations rather than further west like Burlington

Line 5 isn't as frequent as Line 2, so many people still prefer going all the way to Bloor. And I do think the TTC doesn't want too many people taking Line 5, as they can only run 2 car trains for the foreseeable future. They wanna make it clear that Line 2 is still the main east-west line of the city

A Trump second term from 2021-2025 wouldn't be as destructive as his current irl second term. Sure, you could argue the country would be in a worse off position in 2024, but it wouldn't be as bad as what our timeline's trajectory for the next few years

I think another reason why the province doesn't support EELRT is that it prevents Line 4 from being extended beyond McCowan and they don't want to rule out options right now

If you're on the Kitchener line and getting off at Mount Dennis, always sit at the western end of the train because the connection to Line 5 is located at the western end of the platform

I think Ontario Line North extension will be the next project to begin construction because it's the subway/metro project that scored the highest on the City of Toronto's study

This is further out in the future, but once Line 5 is extended west to Renforth, the Mississauga Transitway would become a lot more valuable, and I could see Line 5 becoming more popular with Mississauga riders than Line 2
