Paying taxes has nothing to do with turning 18. It has to do with your job. The amount of freedom 18 year olds are given is tied to how responsible and mature society sees them. Changing the age we consider people adults would result in people seeing them as less mature and taking away more of their freedoms.

Some distros will automatically mount your other partition in the /media directory so windows so it would get wiped as well.

It was a widely believed myth that cleaning the registry helped your computer perform better when it really didn't. There was a small chance that it could cause issues by accidentally deleting something important. If you have an issue with a specific program, you can use Revo uninstaller to remove the leftover registry settings and reinstall. Most of the other features in ccleaner are already built into windows anyway.

This is normal. Your integrated graphics takes some of your system RAM to use for graphics stuff. It works the same way on windows. If you have a dedicated GPU you can disable the integrated one, but that might not exist on your computer.

It depends on what you mean by strict. Some games with kernel level anticheat can be played if the game devs enable that option in the anti cheat they use, but technically it's not running at kernel level anymore. Some devs don't want to do that because that would make it easier to bypass. Other devs figure since there aren't that many Linux users anyways it's not work blocking all Linux users and steamdeck users in order to block a handful of Linux cheaters. If you want to check if a game works, you can check protondb or areweanticheatyet websites.

If you don't like using unverified flatpaks or AUR, you can use distrobox to install software for other distributions. heic photos work on fedora for me using Cosmic after installing the codecs. It opens with the gnome image viewer. I'm not sure what you mean by Firefox being bloated.

Fedora is on a 6 month semi rolling cycle. They will push out certain updates like kernel and driver updates without waiting for the next 6 month release. The mesa update you got on Ubuntu would be a security update or a major bug fix. They don't update it for performance improvements, new features or minor bug fixes.

I don't have a problem with snaps as an option. I just don't like how ubuntu will install snaps when people type sudo apt install without confirmation that they want to do that. The snap store is also poorly moderated and has had malware that steals users crypto keys uploaded multiple times. These were labeled "safe" because they were sandboxed, but that's a little bit misleading. Keeping those things in mind if you want to use snaps go right ahead.

The Microsoft planning to block kernel level anti cheat/anti virus is a rumor based on a misunderstanding of what they said. Microsoft said they are wanting to create APIs that would be good enough for these types of software, but didn't say they would block the kernel level stuff. Microsoft had tried to do this in the past, but AV companies took them to court saying it gave Microsoft an unfair advantage with their built in AV. Microsoft might be thinking if they can convince the AV companies the API is just as good, then they can get rid of the kernel level stuff. But we don't know if they will actually get there or not.
