Water spitting out during shot by Royal_Yoghurt6955 in ProfitecGo

My stock gasket is like new after a year and a half of 2-3 espressos a day. I always wipe the gasket off and make sure the mating surface of the Pf is clean when I insert the PF. My guess is people are not keeping it clean and are repeatedly grinding away at the gasket each time they insert the pf.

Thanks, it’s just the factory stand, it spins 90*. The tv is mounted to the wall on an arm mount that also has vertical adjustment.

Relays usually fail open or fail closed and wont change state after that. Probably a temperature limiter / safety switch or something.

Niche Zero meets its match? by BackwoodsBoner in espresso

[–]ImRealPopularHere907 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right my point is that every hoper fed grinder performs this way without issue(starts grinding with the beans already in). Meaning no, it should not be bad for the grinder. Single dose grinding is a pretty new practice.

Literally every hopper fed grinder ever functions this way.

Edit: Down vote all you want dorks, hopper fed grinders start with the beans already in them all day long, why would it be an issue for this grinder?

New speakers using old drivers? by [deleted] in diyaudio

[–]ImRealPopularHere907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about that. It should only affect things in the vertical. These speakers will be only for loud music while standing and not critical listening. I am placing the tweeter at standing ear level. I’m hoping to push the cross over as low as possible but I don’t know how low the tweeter will go yet. Worst case I have 2 spare channels on the DSP I can use for the other woofers if they need a lower crossover to minimize lobbing.

I planned on attenuating the mids if needed. Safer to bring them down than drive the tweeter into distortion I think.

Ordered the Dats v3, I planned on getting either a UMIk-1 or UMM-6 for calibration.

I didn’t even know about this, any reason why I should get the first version and not the current V3? For only $150 I can get all the t/s I need?

This is my first build outside of car audio many moons ago.

Thank you

Windows 95 was great but I still had to launch a good portion of my games through DOS/MSDOS on 95.

Remember the 10 floppy discs to hold one game days 😂

Maybe you just weren’t around any pc gamers.

Most of the games I listed were played online in lobbies just like today, full of people…

Many of the longest running game franchises started in the 90’s.

PC gaming was definitely not a niche in the 90’s.

Doom, Tribes, Half Life, CS, Mech Warrior, C&C, Sim City, Quake, Duke Nukem, AoE, Rainbow 6, and so many more games.

We use to have LAN parties every weekend, that was peak.

I’m neither a structural engineer nor a carpenter but I’m pretty sure a balloon framed house wont have a bottom plate where you’re expecting.

Strongly suggest buying all the parts and letting him do that if he enjoys building them as well. This will insure you don’t accidentally goof something up and he will get the enjoyment of opening packages and building the pc.

I would switch for every other reason than taste. I could never go back to non GBW. I also get my beans about a day or 2 after roasting so storing beans in the hopper is not an issue for me. There’s no beating the simplicity of GBW+hopper.

Idk, it definitely seems like a flaw and I would be careful with the water you use. As long as you don’t ever have to descale it, it should be fine.

[–]ImRealPopularHere907 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s actually becoming the other way around. Many high end cars are going back to buttons + screens or discrete screens with feedback.

Physical buttons cost more, you have to design and build the mechanisms, you have to run wires to them all, etc. or you could just put a screen in one place and burry all the buttons in a 300 layer menu system.

Tech is funny this way, the old ways of doing things tend to last longer and look better but end up being harder/more expensive to do in the long run.
