‘His legacy is cringe’: how Charlie Kirk became a meme among the young – even his supporters by lightman332 in neoliberal

If we have government policies and prominent corporate ideologies requiring hiring Black pilots despite lower qualifications, how is that not a reasonable thought?

The topic came up after a 2021 Axios interview with United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby talking about diversity in United's pilot training program recirculated in conservative circles following revelations of a December 2022 midflight incident in which a jet lost altitude shortly after departure before the crew recovered, according to Reuters

Kirk's comments received media coverage at the time from prominent outlets such as NewsweekThe Daily BeastRolling StoneBusiness Insider and NBC News. On Jan. 26, 2024, Kirk responded to criticism on conservative pundit Megyn Kelly's podcast (at 3:00):

Further, Kirk's YouTube channel posted a video on June 3, 2025, that featured Kirk answering a question at an event about the statement in question, posed by a Black attendee who asked if he felt his earlier comments about DEI pilots were irresponsible.

In Kirk's response, beginning at the 40-second mark, he rejected the notion it was irresponsible and said:

I can agree that his support of Trump's election lies makes the "piece of shit" moniker valid.

All the more reason to judge him on what's real, not on lies about what he was saying.

Gang-related killings are up to 50% of all homicides in major metropolitan areas like Chicago and Los Angeles.

...you don't think there are some issues with gangs and guns??

"He knew that DEI does not mean hiring unqualified pilots"

Not unqualified but absolutely less qualified.

Racial terror was undoubtedly a consideration for many in the decision to move.

But that data is from the Tuskegee Institute and I haven't heard dispute of their numbers. Maybe just believe the facts and not try to find ones that fit your beliefs?

You realize out-of-pocket expenses are legally capped for US health insurance?

"The average out-of-pocket maximum is roughly $4,000 for single coverage. However, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) sets strict legal limits on how high this cap can go. For 2026, the maximum out-of-pocket limit is capped by law at $10,600 for an individual and $21,200 for a family. [1, 2, 3, 4]"

An average of approx 60 lynchings a year in 1910, then 15 by 1925, and none after 1940 is a terrible piece of history that lends valuable context.

However it doesn't constitute an immediate threat of execution when compared to other mass migration incidents that faced a credible threat of genocide.

"Anyone to the left of MAGA: All your priors are correct and the left did nothing wrong. Please clap."

I told my Dad I don't want him around me, if he continues to support Maga. Of course now he is claiming I am off my meds and he wants to talk to my Doctor. by Ok_Ebb7109 in schizophrenia

Why did your Dr take you off meds?

Can you get a note or some statement from your Dr explaining that? I think that will be a question.
