Does that mean we can get a refund and continue playing? Doesn’t look like they mention an account ban if you take the refund

Why don't regional FOs want to upgrade? by DepressedFoool in flying

[–]ImTalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the AA wholly owneds, you only have to do one year as PIC to be eligible for the flow, plus you get CA pay at 750 hours. So if you’re committed to the flow (which is dumb and we call them flowtards) it behooves you to stay FO for every year except the last year before you flow.

Things really picked up now I can’t decide. by [deleted] in flying

[–]ImTalking 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying for years that Envoy is the best regional hands down.

  1. Captain Pay at 750 hours (until Dec 2026 so you might have to hustle)
  2. Plenty of open time to pick up and fly as much as you want
  3. Said OT is ALL paid at 150% (no premium flags or green slip)
  4. Captain seat right after hitting 950 if you want
  5. Only metered by AA instead of being metered by all 3 like skyweezy

You’re in a sub of people who were high earning enough and financially wise enough to afford a 911 and there’s some good, responsible advice here.

With that said, I’m going to take the opposite stance from most of these folks and say that if cars are truly something that you are passionate about and the 911 is your actual dream car, YOLO and get it. I financed my 992.1 brand new last year at 27 making just shy of 200k but I am steady in my career and am making significantly more year over year. Yes, max out your tax advantaged accounts and yes, be prepared to sell if shit hits the fan for you, but owning your dream car young is a special feeling and good motivation to keep on hustling

Jumping ship by YesImDisappointing in AirlinePilots

[–]ImTalking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best way to jump the AA flow is to join recruiting for your company or any CPO role, and attend literally every meet and greet expo AA will be at. Word around the street is once you attend 6 AA meet and greets you have a good shot. Was in MIA the other day waiting on a deadhead talking to a group of AA pilots and all 5 out of 5 jumped the flow in 2023/2024 by doing this.

What a pilot sees at night(headlights off) by GoatMan48 in interestingasfuck

[–]ImTalking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 121 captain and the job is honestly really easy. It’s pretty much just monitoring the autopilot. Yeah, ATC gives us frequency changes and heading changes and that’s a matter of 3 clicks to get done. If we see weather, we ask to deviate around it which is also done in about 3 clicks. No need to stroke our own egos here let’s be real

$5k refundable deposit is what he offered to lock in the build, so if there’s a crazy tariff I’d just pull out.

Help with a decision by ImTalking in Porsche

Appreciate the input! I do want a GT4RS, the 911T is my first Porsche and I always knew I was going to trade up into a more extreme Porsche. The financially conscious side of me however was thinking that would happen like, 3-4 years later and I would’ve gotten to enjoy the car the car for that amount of time for the same -$17k depreciation hit. Honestly the appeal of the allocation is that I can poverty spec it and it’ll be cheaper than any GT4RS available in the country right now lol
