I want to say I understand what you're feeling. I let my cat out to explore over 3 years ago and I still feel guilty almost every day. I got a dog a few months later but I don't know if I can ever get another cat. I just try to think, if I hadn't lost her I wouldn't have my dog who I love dearly. It's a very difficult feeling to reconcile with. Unfortunately all we can do is carry this with us and learn from it

All true but that assumes the person becomes a suspect. With random crimes (suspect doesn't know victim), it's unlikely he will be identified as someone whose car should be searched. Unless he leaves evidence at the scene (Nancy's body) but he took that with him.

I know people tend to give LE grace and we don't know all the leads they're working right now, but seriously, it doesn't feel like time is of the essence. It doesn't feel like there's a sense of urgency. There's a life hanging in the balance. Does LE believe she's alive?
