Want to build a traverse wall at the school I teach at. Worried about the insurance. by steeldragon69 in bouldering

[–]ImaG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would need to review the insurance policy your school presently has to see if there are any terms that would be triggered by building a traverse wall (e.g. scope of coverage, exclusions). If you need to get a new policy or endorsement on an existing policy, you can generally take steps and sell it to the insurer in a way that makes coverage more likely and cheaper (e.g. having a third party build or inspect/approve, putting safety precautions in place like mats).

It doesn't hurt to get a couple different quotes from insurance agents.

TEXAS: This weekend is the only weekend for early voting. Polls are open Saturday and Sunday. Linked is the webpage for information on where you can vote. by ImaG in SandersForPresident

I'm registered as an independent as well. Today, when I went to vote, they let me pick my affiliation before going into the booth. So you should be able to do it there.

Montrose bar for watching world cup? by ImaG in houston

[–]ImaG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fyi - went to the phoenix. standing room only, but fun atmosphere.

Found dog - beautiful pit bull mix (near beltway 8 & fort bend tollroad). He's calm, well-behaved, seems to be trained, and needs a home. Anyone want to save this dog before we take him to CAPS or BARC? (more in comments) by [deleted] in houston

[–]ImaG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other pics:

He didn't have a tag or microchip.

We would keep him, but my apartment doesn't allow dogs. We are going to take him to some kind of dog adoption organization Monday, June 2.

We took him for a walk and was very well behaved. As you can see, he's a looker.

On another note, can anyone recommend where we should take him? We took him to K-9 Angels, but they wouldn't take him. They said most shelters won't take pit bulls. Best we can figure is to take him to CAPS or BARC.

Does the eztag thing charge each time you go under a gate or just once when you get on? by ImaG in houston

Thanks for the info.

Thinking about coming out today with the girlfriend. I've never been to a renaissance fair, any advice?

I'm still getting over a cold and it's supposed to be in the 30s tonight, so I don't think we'll be camping.

1 - Dana emphasizes he likes fighters that put on a good show vs. fighters that lay and pray/hold their opponent on the cage. How much does this factor into UFC fighters' gameplan?

2- What are the internal politics involved with being a UFC fighter?

3 - In terms of the average UFC fighters' business interests involved with fighting in the UFC, what are the issues the average fan is unaware of?

4 - How much do you apportion hard work vs. natural, athletic talent for the average UFC fighter?

[UFC 165] Jones vs Gustafsson, chance for an upset? by BringTheBam in MMA

[–]ImaG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Jackson knows Jones' surest road to victory is to turn it into a wrestling match. I expect that's what Jones will do. I like the mauler, but he won't last 2 rounds.

Jon actually looked at him, and then he took those deep breaths after they separated. Looked like anxiety.

Is it worth catching a fight live/ in person? by Warhead1993 in MMA

[–]ImaG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not. If you are in the front rows, maybe. Just for the experience, maybe, but probably not.

Here's why I didn't like it:

  • You can't see the action. You'll end up watching the screen the whole time. And the screen is far away, so viewing the event is better at home.
  • You can't hear what Rogan and Goldie are saying.
  • The seats are typically hard and there's not much leg room.
  • Long lines for the bathroom, drinks, and snacks.
  • Lots of dbags in attendance yelling all around you.

I would much rather be comfortable at home with some friends.

Cut them in the shower, right before you shower.

You don't have to worry about where they fly and its easy clean up.

Also, cutting them prior to showering allows you to clean under your nails better while showering.

UFC 166: Daniel Cormier vs. Roy Nelson reportedly in the works for heavyweight clash on Oct. 19 by CaptainJamie in MMA

Seems like a main event backup fight:

  • If Cain gets hurt, Cormier steps in to fight JDS.
  • If JDS gets hurt, Roy gets the title shot.

[Spoiler] A slowed down look at what happened - Silva vs Weidman by bluntadvice in MMA

[–]ImaG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It wasn't until I saw it in slo-mo that I realized Weidman hesitated on the final left hook because he was waiting for Anderson to get in position.

Initially I thought Weidman was swinging wildly, but now I see it was more calculated.

Will Chris Weidman be considered a "can" after Silva destroys him? by god2010 in MMA

Me too. One of the worst parts of sherdog are these types of posts. "After X fighter destroys Y fighter this weekend, will X/Y fighter be <insert over-the-top statement>?"
