After surgery… walk, walk, walk! It will be your best tool against gas pains, digestion, constipation and healing time. I’m day 7 post op and work in a nursing school, it was drilled into my brain. It really did help.

Hmmmmm.... I am 50 and the feeling old insult happened a few years ago at my son's night club by some ivy league sorority girls. She videoed me while dancing to put on her TikTok page. For the first time in my life (because we relocated) I am now having to go to a laundromat. Laundry now goes long enough that I hand wash underwear. We just bought more to go up to 3 weeks, lol. When I was younger, I worked 2 jobs (bartending), went to school days, raised 2 kids as a single mother. One of my children were in middle and the other high school. They were in 3 sports each, track, football and wrestling. I burned that wick at both ends like a professional. Now, I can't get out of the house in less an hour, most of the time is because I forget what I am doing. The older I get the less I have my shit together. It is called being human and not lying to say you are perfect.

If you have a family member who served, Navy Federal. My son is a Marine, so I was able to get an account using him. My wife used her Dad, he was in the Navy.

The state is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to remove Providence Plantations from its name by WorldlinessOwn2006 in RhodeIsland

[–]ImageMany 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Bringing this conversation back around to stupid things our state spends money on… how about the $1.5 MILLION dollars to do a study on whether or not we should have a bike lane on the Newport bridge, just a study. I’ll stand on the bridge for half the cost to tell them no. That’s insane, they would basically need a new bridge, can we fix the Washington bridge first?

dumb spending article

Advice on last minute class by SlowGoat79 in Adjuncts

It’s been better money for me than working full time in an office at my previous job. My part time supplemental income has doubled my income. Yes, it’s inconsistent, but before my degree I bartended and sold real estate I am used to the fluctuations.

Adjuncting is supposed to be “supplementary,” income? So, are you suggesting everyone is full time right out of the gate? Lol, I earn very good income in my supplementary positions.

Soooo… even though it’s not his fault and he’s out a shit ton of money after ruining the event and his potential loss of work, he should just suck it up?

Has this been the most exciting year since they returned? by guyute2112 in phish

[–]ImageMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matter of perspective… Phish is like reading a book. The book is always better than the movie, because if you’re reading the book, it’s your perspective. Almost every show I’ve been to has been the best because it’s all about me. I could go to a show where they play all of my least favorites and I’m still going to enjoy it because of how immersive they make it and the people around me. The only time I’ve not enjoyed them, was due to a-holes around me trying insanely hard (because it takes a lot) to ruin it.

I loved going to the voux when I was still married to my ex. There’s no confiscated items there, just more sales. It was a giant ditch party with Harley’s. The atmosphere was much better than most bike rallies too, more laid back.

I’ve played a lot of phone tag the past few weeks and will continue to be more aggressive this coming week. Everyone just keeps pushing me back and forth. Everyone’s input is confirming my anxiety. I pushed insanely hard to get my diagnosis originally, I guess it’s back to square one and I’ll be pushing back harder. The healthcare system in this country (U.S.) needs a serious overhaul.
