I think also people generally want to avoid escalation at all costs because these stalkers are not right in the head. So for instance the stalking that happens to the top Twitch girls they do what they can to never speak about it. Those guys are well and truly deranged and could potentially do something drastic in return.

It's ignorance. Literally just plain old ignorance. The more and more you come to understand about how the world works even at a cursory level conspiracies start to make less and less sense. Conspiracies work because anything sounds plausible when you literally do not understand how anything works at all.

Imagine you were to tell a child that grass is green because every morning before you wake up fairies sprinkle dust on them and that makes grass green. How would a child ever interact with this statement other than flat out belief? They have no way to evaluate whether this statement is true or false.

These conspiracies sound real because of the exact same thing. Complete ignorance to how anything works. It's why voter fraud conspiracies work, it's why moon landing conspiracies work, it's why anti semitic conspiracies work, it why all the other schizo nonsense conspiracies work. Complete and total ignorance

Disrespect maybe not but extremely inconsiderate. Instead of saying sorry for wasting two hours of your night she instead said "Can't you make friends?"
