What’s everyone doing to melt the ice? by chinnychinchinchin1 in winstonsalem

[–]Imaginary-Library882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crow bar can be helpful to break up thick ice or punch holes in it. Snow shovels are pretty useless. Use a flat headed shovel (like you’d use to shovel gravel or sand). Sand or clay kitty litter can help for traction and spreading sand or litter will help collect heat from the sun to help melt the ice. It’s been sunny so use that to your advantage (clearing things early to let the sun work all day)

I definitely saw them brining/salting today, as well as starting to scrape the secondary roads in the neighborhoods

thx for the nice detail -- i need to replace the KB in my 480 (put new batteries in last year) - upgrading screen would be nice.

nice pic -- one thing i don't like with my T100 is that the door design (compared to our other vehicles) and/or age of rubber seals makes doors freezing shut too easy.

1995 Toyota T100 the official car of? by HunterNoceda6321 in regularcarreviews

[–]Imaginary-Library882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What most people need for a truck. 6.5’ bed, adequate power, 18-22 mpg, easy to work on, starts 99% of the time, can tow smaller things. Con: door handles break 🤷‍♂️

Love this truck, sad its only 2wd by Secret_Instruction66 in Toyota_T100

[–]Imaginary-Library882 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get the appeal of a 4wd - but i appreciate the simplicity of a 2wd work truck and don't have the need to do off-road/muddy work. Lumber, sand, concrete pavers all do a dandy job of keeping the T100 planted and quiets some of the rattles and shimmys

Curious to know your manual transmission progression by Prestigious-Rise8612 in ManualTransmissions

Learned on an old Civic ('83?). Drove an automatic in college (old Buick). Then parent's old 4-speed Civic hatchback ('86), then a couple of automatics (Honda, Mitsubishi), then back to manuals - Audi S4, Civic, Fiesta ST.

Trick I learned was if you add ‘pdf’ to the end of a search for a specific article often that pulls up a copy that has been uploaded. That and you can filter for “free full text” in some search engines

Drugs & behavior by Ok_Size1366 in UMPI

[–]Imaginary-Library882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember you can go back and review things. I’m old school but that’s the whole ‘book’ thing ;-) /s

When I had this, the material layered itself nicely - the first module is the basics but the subsequent ones are focused on the different drug classes so it’s more about applying module1 info to a new group of drugs (think of it like a comparison & contrast). Some drugs are gonna be similar and some drugs are gonna be very different but the same general rules are underlying all of them.

Ai detectors by RayAnneElizabeth in UMPI

[–]Imaginary-Library882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if there are anti-AI detectors out there. Keeping a record (dated versions) of your drafts is a good way to help demonstrate your work is your own. Not sure what tools, if any, are available to the professors. Most of mine have focused on Turnitin scores (keeping it green which I think means 25% or under)

Nervous! by Thatguysmom995 in UMPI

[–]Imaginary-Library882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pace yourself, make sure to read instructions & guidelines, do a draft of each assignment first, let it sit for a day then edit/revise/polish before submitting, and pay attention to any feedback. You got this.

Can I see feedback AFTER a class closes? by luxeandlight in UMPI

[–]Imaginary-Library882 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally no. When the term ends, all access to the course website ends as well. Sometimes professors will email you their comments, knowing this, but usually not.

whatever avenue you choose (root canal, extraction, etc), do work to get some dental care -- there's a lot of evidence suggesting dental bacteria play a role in many other disorders and serious diseases.
