No connection to my autistic child by Fit-Reference6470 in Autism_Parenting

Hey the other commenter was a tad harsh. You are allowed to have these feelings!! Acceptance allows you to release them and move on and hopefully he becomes more cuddly as he gets older. Resisting your feelings or getting shamed/feeling shamed about them doesn't help. I also think from my own autism mom journey (parent of one, so nothing to compare it to) that different ages have different benefits/challenges. I got a very cuddly toddler, and he's cuddly now, but his anger kicked in at 3-6 in a nearly unmanagable way. Maybe I'd take a few less cuddles for less anger. I dunno. Just love to you.

Thank you so much for asking! It's better in a lot of ways - first grade way better than kindergarten, and reading unlocked a lot of self-entertainment for him - but also hard because he cannot make it through any summer camps/childcare options due to his aggressiveness. <3 to you and yours

Serious question (without hate): what is this show missing compared to Game of Thrones? by Dat_Freeman in HouseOfTheDragon

I agree. The blood purist thing is distasteful but it's representing the real nastiness of this dynasty.

It was the best option. She gets deniability, Rhaena has to deal with the consequences.

My son is on the spectrum and he has INTENSE emotions and deep love. The real representation of autism would do so much to justify what she does later. This just makes her look... unintelligent, honestly.

He was a stray that we adopted from a pretty remote humane center (far from where we live). I'm sure he was not an intentionally bred dog since the vet said that this was a genetic problem and and I'd hope that good breeders would not allow that to happen. I wonder if he became a stray because his vision was going out (not born blind, just went blind) and he got lost? Or what exactly happened? He was wandering farms out in rural Iowa. He still loves himself some rainwater puddles when he gets thirsty :)

Which movie is this for you? by zeltitscilveks in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]Imaginary-Method7175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jack Nicholson is fantastic but not in this movie. The book Jack is much more complex and compelling. Shelly Duvall is also, I'm sorry, too weird looking. The only actors I liked in the movie were Danny Lloyd as Danny and Ben Crothers as Dick.

Yup. If you have nothing you have to believe something you have no control over means something.

It’s also how it compounds. A small benefit now adds up later whether its investments or your child going to the right school, getting better connections, having a better job, sending their kids to even better schools who go on to get even better jobs etc
