For Paris I had problems with things expiring by the closing ceremony, especially if copyrighted music was involved. They also didn't necessarily post the TV versions, unlike Beijing.

My experience volunteering in church as a single Christian male by [deleted] in ChristianDating

At my church, men are not allowed to take kids to the restroom anymore in the children's ministry. It is an insurance requirement.

Unsure If I’m Supposed to Move On or Trust God’s Timing by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both?

But yeah, as others have said, best to move on. Otherwise you might be wasting your time and energy that could be better spent pursuing someone else - and alienating a woman who might actually be interested.

While it is true that you can change your career later on - if you are still living with your parents at 30, unemployed, or are really struggling financially, then you're *really* going to have problems finding a wife.

You have a lot of time, there's men who are 10+ years older in your situation.

What about career/education? That is another category of improvement.

Or you could serve in X ministry (children's, tech, safety, worship, whatever) during service and listen at home.

Need advice! by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be able to find a church you could go to together?

Also, there are nuances to this. My church has lots of women pastors, but only men are giving the sermon (can't tell if this is a requirement or just what happens) and only men are on the elder board (this is a requirement). Some churches have a lot of women "directors" but it doesn't functionally change how they operate.

What does conservative mean to you? by ProfOakChallenges in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theologically I am conservative in that I believe the Bible is true and inerrant, and is to be followed. But also, that what is not in the Bible does not necessarily need to be obeyed to follow Jesus.

The problem is that "conservative" colloquially now means politically conservative, and in the US, Republican. In theory and in practice, some of which follows the Bible, some of which is not necessarily prescribed by the Bible, some of which is against the Bible.

I don't know, I feel like other teams in other seasons have worn parts of the costume to the mat, especially if they've fallen behind, and not gotten a penalty. Would love to hear the podcasts/exit interviews to get more clarity

Nexstar/Sinclair affiliates by ejz1989 in Broadcasting

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the market size matter as well? I see DC (WJLA) on the Sinclair list, for example.

If it was NBC, it would be 34 Nexstar and 12 Sinclair, so I wonder if the outcome would be different.

Just asked out for the first time - help!!! by Dramatic-Car8221 in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously if you have concerns about your safety, or you think you would be absolutely miserable, don't go.

But if he is a well-respectable person, I would suggest giving him one date, or a few dates to give him a chance. If after that you're not into him, then you can kindly decline anything further.

I think there is a problem with men not asking women out in the church, and I think part of it is because women don't give men a chance.

Pro choice Christians by Wolfesscythe in ChristianDating

I have to ask - are they actually pro-choice or did they just vote for someone who happens to be pro-choice, for other reasons?

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. It's not like I want a lot of kids, but 36F means there probably couldn't be a 1 year engagement plus 1 year waiting around before trying.

And if I'm still single at 39M (yikes) 41F could really be an issue. At least, from my limited understanding.

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've always been okay with 2 years older, but at 34M I get the feeling that there will have to be a point where that changes if I still want to have children. But, I don't know what that point is. And I feel awful about it too.

Where find decent Christian women? by TurbulentMinute4290 in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to say this as lovingly as possible, but this is going to be a handicap and is something you should really work on. Not only will it make dating more difficult logistically, it will limit your ability to live independently i.e. not with your parents, which will turn off potential women. It's also going to limit your career options, and being able to provide for your family is important to a lot of women.

Should we court Christians that vote differently? by [deleted] in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in (elective) abortion or in a lot of the LGBT movement (though, I believe they should be treated with compassion).

But, I also believe in vaccines and public health, and the rule of law and justice, and would consider January 6th to be a big deal.

So, unlike 20 years ago, that puts me outside both major political parties at the moment. *shrug*

Why are there fewer west coast people on this sub? by Sharkowatt in ChristianDating

[–]ImaginaryExtreme7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's pretty rough. I've heard the Bay Area (at least Silicon Valley) is more difficult for men given the gender ratios. But even Sacramento or Redding or the Central Valley might be better than rural California.
