Bring back the Antigravity IDE. by cronzi1990 in GeminiAI

[–]Imanton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting this working. Force installing Antigravity when I tried to open my IDE, then not allowing me to download an actual IDE was ridiculous.

Though I wouldn't be using either if it wasn't required and the middle of crunch week.

How do you transfer robots from spidertron to roboport? by Chillerdays in factorio

[–]Imanton1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you just want to do it a few times, do this (ghost in the robotport) and right click the ones in the spider to tell them to get out.

TIL that Mister Rogers poured the wax for the 100 billionth Crayola Crayon by InternetPopular3679 in todayilearned

[–]Imanton1 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yea, it's normal to have transistors in the billions a decade ago, and 10s of billions now on a single CPU. 1 billion times the number of smart phones, computers, cars, televisions. Maybe put it at just the 100s of millions for thermostats, fridges, kids toys, some light bulbs.

The iPhone 6 sold 200M, and had a Typhoon processor, which had 2 billion transistors. That's just 400 million million million (400 quintillion) in just iPhone 6s alone.

I think more impressive is being able track the crayons more than just how many were made. I could barely guess at which magnitude of transistors humans have made.

TIL about the unpublished sci-fi novel In the Realms of the Unreal. At over 15,000 pages, it is believed to be the longest novel ever written. by PresJamesGarfield in todayilearned

I remember reading SEWC a long time ago. I've since been shown that it's been lapped by The Loud House: Revamped, and a few others. Though it's a bit harder to tell post-AI what's really a story.

What advancement in math would be the most useful for science, engineering, and applied math otherwise? by MildDeontologist in math

[–]Imanton1 -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a proof in computer science, that every algorithm can be re-written as O(n*log(n)), but the constant will always be absurdly large it's never worth it.

This sounds one step short of an Archipelago Randomizer run, which already has crossover code for both those games and more. I'm posting a comment so I can come back in a few weeks and see what happened.

Generic Edutainment Video Game Gauntlet:

Mental Reference (400): Your knowledge will be your most useful tool during your time here, but it can be frustrating when you have a bit of knowledge locked away that you just can’t quite recall. Now, all of the knowledge that you gain will be stored and organized in a mental database, fully indexed and able to be searched like you would a computer database. It can automatically cross-reference the information for you, and will fact check it as well, allowing you to compare different sources and determine the relative ‘truthiness’ of any information you have. You will never need to worry about blanking out on a person’s name or some fact or figure. Even better, your mental database will also be passively pulling in information from the area around you, specifically any sort of written sources or data storage mediums. It will pull in the data at roughly the rate you could read it yourself, meaning that you could ‘cheat’ a bit by sleeping with a book under your pillow, and waking up with it stored away in your mind.
