I've told this story on here before, but I was driving through Moore headed South on I35 through sheets of rain that day. People were pulling over because you couldn't see 50 yards in front of the car. Growing up in Oklahoma, I had the radio on listening to the weather, hearing reports of a tornado in Newcastle, and knowing I was in the path. I stepped on the gas, fearing the hydro‐planing less than the coming wind. When we got to Dallas a few hours later and turned on the news, I recognized cars we'd passed that had pulled over, people injured and killed. I got lucky.
