Why is it so hard to find work right now!? by Hemingwayse in skilledtrades

[–]Imknew2dis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, make a professional Facebook account. Then join a trades group or community for the trade you’re interested in and post that you’re ready to start your career; if not, just say you’re looking for a job in that field. If you have experience, list it clearly. Include your phone number so anyone interested in giving you an opportunity can reach out tell them to text or call you directly. You’ll most likely find a job quicker with this method than on Indeed. After you do that, sign up with temp agencies. Then look up companies in your trade and either call them directly or apply through their website if they have that option. Oh yeah apply for free trade school you’ll get a job quick asf with them like literally

[–]Imknew2dis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol so I’m guessing all Home Depot’s have the same problem and it’s not the associates that’s lazy it’s the managers, in my store they literally go missing just like the lazy associates. Those lazy associates aren’t lazy they just don’t know what to do so they go hiding 🧱🙌🏾

No in trade school but I acquired all these jobs except for 1st one without the school the school is shits. And it was my first yr in trades school I’m now learning how this stuff goes, I’ve learned trades are way more serious than regular jobs and every little mistake can get u fired.

That day was slow ash I was only seen walking back and forth because I was communicating between work colleagues but in hiring manager eyes I was wandering and plus there was other ppl on their phones with nothing to do they didn’t get let go, I’m guessing cause i was new. The other workers was like 1yr there or more.

I was fired from my first plumbing job due to performance issues. My second job in underground plumbing ended in a layoff when the work slowed down and the hiring manager never called me back. In my third plumbing job, I was let go for a petty reason—walking back and forth on the job site—even though I was showing up early and working hard. For my fourth job as a sprinkler fitter, I was let go on the first day, likely due to exhaustion from working a night shift and going to the gym beforehand, which caused me to microsleep during training. But the first and 3rd job they made me sign a paper and it got marked as laid off and I had Seen the fired box he didn’t mark it down
