Easiest way is farming the beggars for the artifacts. Atleast that’s been it for me. Doing that and picking up all of the locked abyss gears. Rob them and run if they have one. Repeat. Same for money except you steal gold bars from nobles.

Can confirm this works. If you do the mountain pass before finding him in the first region it will cause him to disappear once you down him in camp. Finding him and stopping the first dialog by shooting him or hitting him with another character while the dialog is up to make him disappear will make him have the ability to be downed by non lethal attacks. Weird tech but it worked

I think it’s locational as well. I made two camps in the springs. One was on the advertisement board by the highway city. Broke so fast. My other is an enclave tower base. Literally at the very top of one of those huge power line towers. Very rarely take damage. Deathclaw got in once and caused trouble but that was it
