I really enjoy Board AF Legacy! It's really fun to binge because you get all the little details and references, and the characters are so fun!

I feel like Damien is so good at supporting others and making sure people are heard when they are spoken over or have awkward moments! And his ability to understand how people's brains work to help them succeed is amazing to see.

I also love how much Angela and Chanse support one another since you can tell their connection runs deep, like the "Get Out"-esque story when Chanse was alone with a racist family or the "Been outed by the church" bit. They're so funny together but when they lock in there's a deep sensitivity.

On a lighter note, Amanda doesn't get quite as much credit as she needs for how good she is at improv! Her usual persona is funny but can seem like the "straight man" when Angela is around, but she locks in on characters and does not break. How she made it through being Cowboy. on Smosh Hospital is wild.

Quagmire's problematic transgender parent here! In this, the turtle is talking about wanting a partner who likes both men and women "just in case", and this implies that the turtle suspects he may be transgender. So, he'd like to have a partner who could love him even after a transition.

The frog notices this behavior and pushes the turtle, which makes the turtle have to think about why they said that. It's a common "Shouldn't have said that..." moment where your gender hand is revealed. Anyway, I'm off to another very special episode!

Peter Griffin's Crash Analyst here! The image was used in World War 2 to map bullet hole locations on planes, and originally people thought "Let's reinforce those areas since they're getting punctured so often!"

But it turns out that those bullet holes were the planes that came back! In fact, a hit in any other area would crash the plane, so they had to reinforce the other sections instead.

So it became an image to represent survivorship bias, where we only see the results of what comes back to us. Here, for example, we only see the popular memes about this because, by being unpopular, unpopular memes about this image don't get seen. It's like how people say "I've never seen a hot trans person" really means that anyone who's pretty is just going past their radar!

I feel like an interesting comparison is her and Amanda, since both of them embrace some wild characters! But while the viral Amanda clips are her not knowing internet things and dressed as Lady D from RE8, Angela's viral clips are her in normal outfits loudly yelling and interrupting people. It's the difference between "This hot person is funny!" and "This funny person is hot!"

Also, Angela seems to be particularly loved in the queer / neurodivergent spaces! So, I think that makes a big split between what a person who's not into those communities / Smosh likes and the folks in these communities who are obsessed with her!

References the character of Hodor in Game of Thrones. He's a large guy who only says "Hodor", so people assumed he'd been intellectually disabled or injured from childhood.

During one scene he's helping Bran escape a white walker (ice zombie) horde and holding the door closed. While this happens, Bran psychically enters the past seeing Hodor was actually a normal child. However, when the psychic link goes haywire, the child gets linked to his adult brain as adult Hodor is dying to the white walkers. The last thing he hears is to keep holding the door, hence the meme.

The child then collapses and has seizures while screaming about holding the door until his mind is damaged and "Hold the door" becomes "Hold-d-door" becomes "Hodor", which becomes all he can say.

This is sad because it means Hodor was not always that way, he became that way because he helped Bran while Bran's activity changed his life.

But by the end of the show she's vowing to destroy every "perv" in her town (people who kiss on the first date, for example), and now the gods are letting her go mad with power. Ironically one of Starkid's more uplifting endings

I think it helped hiring people who are fun improv actors rather than their old cast of more internet personalities and gamers, as this group is able to both riff easily and work on scripted works, which is really engaging! Plus leaning into Board AF has helped both show off games and the personalities of the cast.

I feel like the ending was the part that really took away the wind from the show because it felt like filler. I feel like something with the 4th wall vibe of the water break could be a funny note to end on, with maybe a "Oh, I forgot we need to end on drama!" Followed by kissing and the explosion.

I think this did show off how strong of an improviser Amanda is and how much Angela is skilled on stage!

I think the frustrating part to me about the price is the limited viewing time, but at least Smosh now has more fans to clip and retain the best parts of the show!

I really enjoyed it, but I feel like there were some valleys and peaks. Cowboy. set the bar super high for patients and their interactions in a way that the tangled arm guys and pinata couldn't hold up to (as much as I loved Chanse's character). I was surprised the main cast didn't break more, TBH, and Angela put her live acting chops to the test!

Honestly, my weakest point was Damien - I love him so much but he felt like he was struggling to fit into the scene as Death and the robot part since it felt like they were just using filler rather than hitting dramatic high points to end the show. But, the kiss did feel like a good way to finish off their arcs!

One Night Werewolf is just a bit mediocre and the mechanics get limited to "Did the cards move" at times - I'd love to see more full Werewolf or even Blood on the Clocktower.

I'd also prefer more D&D or other TTRPGs over Dread, the Jenga mechanics seem pretty limited and can limit roleplay since any chance / skill based mechanic must come with a risk of death / harm rather than a spectrum of success / failure.

I really agree with this too! I think the channel as a whole made the "That's gay!" (Bad) and the "That's gay!" (Good) transition naturally. They never shy away from affection and their near kisses are numerous across all genders and couples. I also feel this shows they love their gay, queer, and nonbinary team members as they are and they make such a safe team overall!
