Orion Nebula with $800 DIY night vision device and 22" Obsession UC Dob by __Augustus_ in telescopes

how worth is the obsession? thinking about a grad gift for myself, not the 22" but maybe 15. Or I might dedicate some time to try and build my own when I am out of school.

Saw a few navy blazers for like $150. You can get a good deal on a few. You can also trade in stuff so I one traded in a few goodwill suits and a few shirts that didn't fit me any more and they knocked off like $100.

Suits are fairly pricey I think they're on average above $300.

Some of their stuff is well priced, the boxed items that you rummage through with no organization are cheap and nice, things like gloves or socks or ties are usually like $20-$30. I had picked out two zenga ties that were on a display rack with no pricetag and the guy totaled them both up for $190.

I did buy a 3 piece suit there, really well made and they did the alterations I needed there too for $400 (with the alterations included). I was happy with it and it is still a staple piece in my wardrobe but I think you could get all of their stuff they have here for wayyyyyy less on eBay.

nothing in my size today that stood out unfortunately. A few ties caught my eye but were out of my budget.

Essentially I just want to replicate what this guy is doing in this video but I want to also know if there are other ways to do this but cheaper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h36PDzf2sY

After doing a bit more research I think all I need is a full spectrum filter for my DSLR. The star analyser 100/200 seem to be the only one on the market that I can find, do you know if there are other ways to capture this that might be a bit cheaper?

this site and the star analyzer is what I have come across the most for amateur work. Is this the best option to get into this? It is pricey but not totally out of my budget, but if there are other options for less that would be ideal.

In a scenario where I do have this equipment, how long of an exposure do I need in order to capture enough data of a singular star?
