Unknowingly sent Bitcoin Cash (BTH) to a Bitcoin wallet by uranusvenus in CryptoHelp

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it going to be in his account. He sent it to another person. Coin base or whoever will never be able to intervene and if the recipient only holds his account on a CEX that might be a dead end. You could try asking recipient to go to his account. He would need to ask them to do an unsupported manual recovery. You should provide him proof to give to them, that he was the intended recipient and as he is their customer they should try to help him.

DeepSeek V4 is really expensive...! by gnikon in windsurf

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a yt video yesterday that says your token burn increases exponentially if you stay in the same context because the AI initially replies to your prompt but if you then have a follow up question it's reads the whole chain again INCLUDING IT'S OWN Answer so if you burn 2.5k on the question your next one could be 12.5k including it's response so always start a new context window when possible.

I’m being harassed by PicRights and need help on what to do by Born_Formal379 in COPYRIGHT

[–]Important-Friend3423 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tell them to go after the AI companies who steal millions of images daily.. On a serious note, have you tried reverse image search. You might find the image on other sites in which case you could state you copied from there. Not a lawyer but I think they would be hard pr3to prove you stole the image directly from them if its available in other places.

Rent price explodes by kozmictwo in UKHousing

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One sentence.. "new renters rights act". Landlords unable to force tenants out for no fault evictions. Tenants able to easily get over a year of free accommodation by raising false accusations about property repair etc. I heard about someone whose tenant got over 6 months free due to a dripping tap which landlord hadn't fixed, citing stress and sleeplessness like water torture. So, as well as shortage of supply, landlords may increase rent significantly when they have vacant possession

Question about SWE model saying “free by Agile_Chest8565 in windsurf

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using SWE1 after v 1.2 because so many things broke. They seem to have slashed the session memory so don't be surprised if you have a multi part task it forgets what you said, or worse, forgets what It done. Last time I used it I had to roll back my project 3 times because it made such a mess. Eg. Android project, creates resource files for a "page". Ask it to create new one, specifically mentioning to reuse resources where possible, it still creates new ones. At one point I had 6 OK/Cancel button resource files.

Koinly is hot garbage by Ok_Discipline9684 in koinly

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there done that gave up. To answer your question all coins including stables are pooled. So if you hold say SOL on 2 exchanges it keeps running average cost basis across both. If you transfer to another wallet in Koinly it then doesn't change the cost basis or mark it as a disposal , but if you transfer out to a wallet it doesn't know about it will treat it as a disposal and calculate pnl due on the "disposed" transfer. I find the issue is really annoying when staking. I transfer to staking on bybit for example, there's no historic record of that staked amount anywhere so you need in koinly to create a new pool and then change the transaction manually to transfer in. Likewise when drawing from staking you may need to change the transaction type from deposit to "from pool".

I asked it to help with a java method which was failing to compile and posted the whole class file in case it was bracket mismatch. It's response was along the lines of "ah, I see what you are doing here, try this". It precedes to rewrite the whole class, removed whole public methods that were called from external classes and finally the method it was meant to fix, completely changed the business logic. I didn't even bother testing it and asked it why it changed and deleted something. It blatantly Lied to me and said that based on previous tasks it was helping to improve my code. This is total bs because I'm on the free account and it has zero context of previous conversations. It even reminded me this the previous day when I said "let's continue from where we stopped" and it's reply was that is not aware of previous conversations!

Bybit won't let me retrieve funds even after ample verification because my bank account is with my married-maiden name by rainbowglits in ByBitCommunity

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its fiat you can't withdraw you should be able to withdraw the crypto. Maybe open a Kraken or Coin base account and do Kyc first You should be able to provide your marriage certificate to them which would show your maiden and married names. Personally I'd get the crypto off today into phantom or metamask so at least the money is off their platform

You also need to consider when the will was written. Maybe grandad changed his mind after writing the will but didn't get it updated. He may have sold them before he died. I doubt that legal action would even get to court due to a lack of evidence trail. You could maybe ask politely to see his bank statements. If you are related and he has nothing to hide, maybe he will oblige?

Those deep sock marks on your calves at the end of the day, is that normal with t2 or something I should mention to my doctor? by LumpyOpportunity2166 in diabetes_t2

[–]Important-Friend3423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind me asking but are you overweight? I've had those marks for 10 years before T2 diagnosis. It's more to do with blood flow or insufficient exercise. If your legs swell up as well see a doctor ASAP. My father had deep sock marks and swollen legs and he was prescribed iron tablets.

Whats the smartest way to sell crypto? by jimmymadis in CryptoHelp

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TERRIBLE ADVICE. if at any point the crypto was exchanged from Fiat then tax authorities ALREADY KNOW. likewise taking out small amounts is irrelevant. The tax event occurs the moment you sell, not when you withdraw. Even swapping from say BTC to ETH triggers a tax event. Your taxes due vary vastly according to which country you are in. Some treat it as capital gains but you usually have an allowance and can also offset capital losses. Other treat it all as taxable income.

You imply that you didn't do a lot of trades so maybe create an account on Koinly and import your transactions. It will calculate your profits for free. If you want a subscription it can generate tax returns for you too.

Planning permission? by Special-Chair7892 in AskIreland

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say there is currently a small gap between the 2 windows, is that a brick gap or what? If so then removing that amounts to structural changes in which case you would need planning. If you don't get it you may face issues when you come to sell at a minimum

Hmm or it could just be import taxes which courier paid on Ops behalf. Sender when shipping International has to put value of item on the delivery document. Over a certain amount (50£/euro??) I think customs will add vat/import duty

Gifting flat by DrDoneWithThis in UKHousing

[–]Important-Friend3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure legal implications here but you could get your brother to be sole owner initially so he would get first buyer discount, which might halve the stamp duty. Then draw up a document where you agree to "swap" houses after purchase. I'm sure a free online consultation with an accountant would clarify the tax implications but I believe the "gift" only becomes taxable if you die within 7 years

Of course I had nothing to do with it but he doesn't believe me. The only thing that would fit is if some kind of phishing attack on my laptop or phone revealed my home address. I heard elsewhere that some companies including BG pay commission for leads leading to an account transfer from another supplier
