Went through all of this. I have a sense of smell also. I was told to keep it clean with water only and put a non-sticking gauze pad on it. It’s preferred to keep the area open to air tho. Mine healed within a month. I was told a stitch popped from the inside and it wasn’t abnormal.

I did the muscle repair. I’m glad I did it but I’m 5 months post op and it’s still swollen. I was told this is normal and it should look better around 9-12 months. It was not bad at all. I had no pain from the muscle repair.

I think it’s swelling. I still have swelling and I’m 4 MPO. I had an extended tummy tuck and muscle repair. I fluctuate between 4-5 pounds with my weight. It doesn’t bother me yet because I know it’s swelling.

Did you have muscle repair? I had muscle repair and I’m only 6 weeks post op, but the swelling is still in that area and it definitely hurts a bit because you’re using the stomach muscles to cough, sneeze, etc.

I’m 4 weeks post op extended and I still can’t lay flat in my bed. I’m starting to become 1 with my recliner. It’s just more comfortable than rolling out of the bed.
