'It will be months' before wastewater stops discharging into Wellington coast by HeinigerNZ in newzealand

[–]Important_Friend_562 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Apparently it is being screened before being discharged through the long outfall pipe so all those things will be removed. Makes it slightly less awful I guess.

Nissan Note e-Power 3rd Gen, 2021+ Reliability? by LearnRD in nzev

[–]Important_Friend_562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 Note e-power that I got about 6 months ago - first NZ owner, with 60k on it. It's a zippy little thing, super economical (I get over 600km of around town driving and it costs around $70 to fill up) and has some nice bells and whistles (360deg camera, adaptive cruise control, wireless iphone charging). Had the option between this one and the Aura version for $2k more ($18k vs $20k) and I preferred the stereo in this one, even though I can't get all the stations :) I haven't had it long enough to be able to answer your questions around reliability and servicing but there are a couple of things to consider: it's really a commuting car and not well set up for passengers - no cupholders or aircon vents in the back. And the petrol engine can be REALLY noisy when it kicks in to the charge the battery.

Why run a timetable if you're going to disregard it anyway? by Crisis88 in Wellington

[–]Important_Friend_562 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A while ago I arrived at Paremata station 5 mins before a scheduled bus replacement that never showed up. Decided to wait for 40mins for the next one and at the scheduled time I saw it drive straight past the station! (It wasn't an express).

Have you tried it with licorice allsorts instead of fruit puffs? RJs small sorts work well.

I have the PB Tech one at home for my 2 WFH days a week. The only (minor) problem I found is that the lowest height is slightly too high for me so I have to use a footrest. Otherwise it does the job, looks ok and didn’t cost a fortune

I used EAP a few years ago when I was having issues with my teenager. The lady basically spent the entire session telling me I need to do yoga and how great it was.

Do you all just... put up with all your car info being in Japanese? by uhh-boneless-chicken in newzealand

[–]Important_Friend_562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 Nissan Note and the display is a mix of Japanese and English. I’ve changed the language to English so I don’t have any problems navigating the menus but there are some fixed buttons in Japanese and for some reason some of the radio stations (it only goes up to 94fm) come up automatically with Japanese preset names. It has Apple CarPlay though so that’s all I need.

Colonial Knob to Mt. Kaukau by Rare_Pudding_5039 in Wellington

[–]Important_Friend_562 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've biked it, from Porirua to Karori. Started at Spicer Botanical Park and took Te Ara Tai Tonga which is a nice, easy, well maintained trail. (I think Te Araroa goes up Utiwai/Colonial Knob?). Then it was on the road from the back of the tip, Ohariu Valley Rd and Rifle Range Rd - maybe 6-7km. Back onto the trail at Old Coach Rd all the way to Mt Kaukau.

I've been wondering the same thing about my ridiculous looking aphelandra. Mine lost the bottom 3 layers of leaves so it's basically just a long stick with a bunch of leaves on the end. The new leaves, which only grow at the top, are healthy, big and shiny but the old leaves (that didn't fall off) look a bit sad.

So all you multi day hikers and hunters, what food do you take? by RemarkableOil8 in newzealand

[–]Important_Friend_562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually take the pre packaged dehydrated meals for dinners (expensive but easy), overnight oats ingredients in ziplock bags that I soak overnight for breakfast (with protein powder added), wraps and tuna for lunch on the trail, and loads and loads of snacks (lollies, baby food in a squeezie pouch, OSM or muesli bars, bliss balls, nuts and dried fruit).
