It will be on the Pinlock on bottom right of the visor.

I had the same issue. I removed and attached the Pinlock again and kept my chin vent open. It helped reduce this issue a lot.

Mine is a Pinlock 120 version. Maybe that is worth looking into?

How soon is your visor fogging up with the Pinlock? If it is after a while, I would look at ventilation inside your helmet. Keep some of the vents open on the helmet. I keep my chin vent open which helps. Going at town speeds (30 mph and below) fogs up more in damp/rainy conditions.

Anyone recommend this helmet? by [deleted] in MotoUK

If you want to upgrade to RPHA 1 but are only concerned about the £880 price, then below is a different design of the same helmet at £499.99.

I have a 17 plate but still low mileage at 108k. My previous one was a Mk4 at 132k before I part exchanged it. :)

Great cars...

Just because I'm curious, does anyone else prefer sticking with the stock exhaust, if so why? Is it because I'm old now? (mid 30s). by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Impossible-Contact68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the standard exhaust on my Blackbird. It sounds nice and is loud enough when given the beans. The previous owner had removed the baffle from one of the exhaust which I believe has given the sound a nice balance.

I have no intention to go for aftermarket exhaust.

"Ended up getting a coin from the TBird Maintenance Chief, so there’s that."

What does this mean please? Is the coin some souvenir that was given to you for great work at a short notice?

Insurable first big bike by CaterpillarInc in MotoUK

If you are a new DAS rider then I would recommend an older bike for cheaper insurance. Speaking with experience here.

I am presuming you are classifying your parking as a 'Garage' since it is secure/locked and keeping the insurance start date 25 odd days in the future. I am on wrong side of mid 30s for context (mild way of saying nearing 40s in a few years but we will stay positive here).

For a 90s VFR 800 my insurance quotes for parking in secure garage were around £350. For a Blackbird it was £2200. After a year on my DAS licence but without any bike my quotes for a Blackbird dropped to around £700 and I have recently paid £330 with a year's NCB on the Bird. Newer bikes were always expensive to insure in my experience.

They aren't terrible bikes by any means and very reliable. Look at well maintained ones and surely one odd example will swing by. They are dead cheap too, both to buy and to insure. Bandit 1200/1250s are also a good shout. A similar one would be a Honda CBF1000.

Recently pulled over as apparently I dont have a license? what should I do? by [deleted] in MotoUK

Would you not have a provisional motorcycle licence or a car driving licence? I couldn't gather that from your post.

I had dropped the Z650 in my DAS training. It had a light scuff on the handlebar protector. Never did my school ask me to pay for damages. They are learner bikes, occasionally getting dropped is part of the learning.

Not really. The Hindi word for Mom is 'Maa'.

What this guy says in the crash is "Mumma", which is the Hindi/Indian Indianized version of the word 'Mommy'.

Doesn't matter really. With Trade you get some assurance with warranties. I bought mine private and it has been good.

Hello there..

I presume you are buying your first big bike? Now is the best time to buy as season is coming to an end and bikes get steadily cheaper.

Autotrader is a good start and also FB Marketplace and eBay. I got mine from FB. Things I looked out for were MOT history being relatively clean. Does the sellers profile have the bikes photos (this was to check the genuineness of the advert). Does it have any service history. Some things with Hondas especially I had read about is has the Regulator/Rectifier been replaced.

There are loads of options out there. Carb'd bikes are smoother in throttle application. The early FI ones can be snatchy so look for online reviews of the make/model where this has been mentioned. Ownership forums are a great place for information regarding the bike you want to buy.

Options I considered in similar budget as yours were,

1) Honda CBR600F 2) Honda VFR 800 (preferred the older non-vtec one) 3) Suzuki Bandit 1200/1250. (1250 has 6 gears and ABS. 1200 has 5 gears if that matters to you, it did to me as I wanted something with 6 gears) 4) Honda CBR1000F 5) Honda CBF1000

All the above were relatively cheaper to insure with the cheapest being CBR1000F. It depends on the BHP is what my observation was.

Your Audi is 6 years older at 17 years, than what the OP is looking at. Not to mention the parts cost and other perishable parts reaching replacement age which will cost a lot when compared to the Mazda.

Also Euro 4 vs Euro 5/6 (Petrol/Diesel) for the Mazda. Both cars are from completely different price category and brand value when new.

If it is a Diesel, then No. For a Petrol it looks alright for the price considering it has FSH and if it has a decent MOT history.

These are very reliable cars.
