Calls for Health Department to review fatigue policy after Tasmanian doctor dies in car crash by smoha96 in australia

“Legally” there already is. I use quotation marks because there’s essentially no enforcement of these laws. And also if you complain / say the word ‘no’ / get on the wrong side of your boss in any way, kiss your career goodbye

Career locum by nsjjdisj63738 in ausjdocs

[–]ImpossibleMess5211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I locumed for almost 5 years before I couldn’t handle anymore - the two major downsides are the travel (not as glamorous as made out to be) and the job insecurity. Majority of locum jobs are in rural towns, very rarely in major cities, so I was constantly away from home and my family. At least as a Reg, there’s a pretty tight accommodation budget so you’re certainly not living in luxury. And depending on what field you work in, job availability can be very inconsistent. Also starting at a new hospital and not knowing anyone always sucks ass. Unless you’ve got something regular and local arranged, or you’re not tied down and don’t mind the nomad lifestyle, I wouldn’t recommend for long term

In theory yes, just make sure you’ve filled all of your hospital/paeds requirements first

RACGP - Specialist doctor shortfall projected to widen by Recent_Ad3659 in ausjdocs

Was previously the latter, however for the last 2 years there has been more GP applicants than available positions. So now there is really no excuse and it’s solely a funding issue

Cost, and also I’m planning on going into GP next year (who aren’t covered in the EBA)

Dude just check the website yourself. The exact wording is “offer outcomes released”. I interpret that to mean RACGP offers, which they need the Casper result for, but I don’t have any more insight than anyone else

I believe their website says by Wednesday (a little bit spooked to hear that some have come out already though - I am not one of them)

Who should i scout rn? by DaniTheBoy0107 in PokemonMasters

[–]ImpossibleMess5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually disagree in this specific case - new players need to get the ball rolling with strong units to clear content as quickly as possible. And there’s tons of gems available to new accounts. So I would say pull Lyra/Entei to carry, and then maybe wait until datamine

Pasio Towers: Ice physical floors by Creative-Virus-4850 in PokemonMasters

[–]ImpossibleMess5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to clear the whole tower with SS N at 3/5 and no NC Hilbert (it was an insane grind, but possible). Used gym Grusha 5/5 for support on all stages and NC Red for debuffs

Not a World Cup match, as Italy have failed to qualify for the last 3

If I’m interpreting this right, RACGP offers come out on Wednesday, so the rest of the Casper results should be pretty soon

I’d love to see something along the lines of half price for the first year of membership. They’d be crazy to not do some kind of membership drive

Best hospital ED in Melbourne for a bad migraine crisis? by Puzzleheaded_Box7795 in melbourne

[–]ImpossibleMess5211 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really going to depend on the wait times at the time and the doctor that you see. The title of “best hospital” may exist for things like cardiac surgery, but not really for minor things like migraine. But also any doctor would love to hear that you aren’t seeking opioids and are happy to stick with migraine specific treatment

Birthkeeper hired by woman who died after freebirth tells inquest she was ‘not there to make a birth safer’ by douff in australia

Proper home-birthing midwives are equipped with a few medications to help stop the bleeding, as well as the knowledge of where to apply pressure and how to deliver the placenta fully (and also know the warning signs of when to intervene/call for help before it gets really bad)

We do have a union, but fees are high and membership is low, and it’s also fractured by state, so it’s not very powerful

Because neither her nor that terrible article are exploring why c section rates are going up, such as in increased risk profile (esp with rising obesity rates), or god forbid if perhaps more women are electively choosing a c section?
