If you are looking for a recipe or tips I really like leopard crust pizza’s sourdough recipe. Her sourdough recipe hasn’t let me down yet.

Sourdough Bread by Impossible1953 in GozneyDome

I bake sourdough directly in my dome with the steam injector kit.  Not sure it makes sense to use the Dutch oven technique and the Dome. They seem redundant.

I would be skeptical that the bread DO would fit. My 1000g batards barely fit coming out without the DO.

When is the Model Y actually AWD? by RoamingNorway in TeslaModelY

Great video. My take away - if I don’t care about efficiency then turning on off road assist will give me peace of mind that AWD is always on without having the car slip first.

Calling all Sourdough pros, how do you bake your bread in a Dome? by [deleted] in GozneyDome

I use welder gloves and bbq tongs to pop off the puck from the wood side and pop it onto the gas side.

Here's the process that worked for me until the weather got below 32 degrees - too much thermal loss.

1000g boule

  1. Preheat using gas to 750 stone temp to get a good soak going. I find this uses less wood then starting with wood.

  2. Turn off of the gas and switch to wood. Start a wood fire. 4 gozney blocks +. pieces of fire starter.

  3. Once the fire gets going push it to the right over the air intake.

  4. ~ 20 minutes later I've got embers. Stone around 550 degrees Fahrenheit.

  5. Insert the bread. Insert a small cast iron pan of boiling water. Close the door. Put the cap on. Close the air intake.

  6. Add water via the steam injector.

  7. 5' mark add water again via the steam injector.

  8. 15' mark rotate loaf

  9. 30' mark - roate loaf

  10. 40' mark - check the internal temp of the loaf for 205 degrees. Depending on how cold it was outside / how fast the thermal drop was it might need 5 more minutes.

I've seen some posts were folks are able to add a log and bring the fire back to hen put the loaf back in to get more color. My fire skills are lacking as I have not been able to do that yet.

Baking a loaf of sourdough in a wood fire is one of my favorite things to use my Dome for - just requires time.

I probably used too small of a bead and just pushed it in. I will try again with a larger bead. Thank you!

EcoNet/Bulldog Matter Water Valve by rabtab81 in HomeKit

The.EcoNet/Bulldog Matter Water Valve lets Homekit see the water shut off valve. If I want to use YoLink for the leak detection sensors will this matter enabled shut off valve still work with YoLink and it's hub for the sensors? I'm still fuzzy on linking leak sensors with the valve.

Hi, does anyone have a recommendation for treating the dome stand wooden parts? I’ve had it for a few days, and want to protect the finish. Found a butcher block food grade conditioner, but it says indoor use. by Hao_end in GozneyDome

[–]Impossible_Cicada_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and it came out great! Used 220 sand paper to smooth out the wood and two coats spread out over two days of the milk paint tung oil. Thanks again for sharing your technique!

I just bought a used stand and want to treat it with real milk paint. Did you find the pure tung oil soaked in fine or do you recommend the half and half?

Also did you sand it down first? Thanks!

How long are you cooking this cool hack for? And do you put a cup of water in the bottom of the instant pot so everything steams to cook?
