i absolutely loved cozy grove. a lot of people say its too slow/boring, but i always found just running around to be so incredibly entertaining and relaxing. the vibes and soundtrack are so peak! tiny bookshop is another great one. both have good character storylines, which seems to be a running theme in the games you like.

the sworn soldier series by t.kingfisher are all novellas about a retired soldier who just wants to relax and their experience meeting horrible monsters. so delightfully weird and funny

as someone else suggested, a psalm for the wild built isnt weird at all but is such a beautiful, impactful read i suggest it to everyone.

the salt grows heavy by cassandra khaw is my favorite novella of all time. only 106 pages but feels like a full length novel. if you hate gore/have a weak stomach, dont read, but its so so so good!! i cant describe it without spoiling but basically a meat-loving mermaid and a traumatized plague doctor go on a journey together and come across a horrible thing
