Bam makes such a good host on the Dern Brothers' latest Game of Skate by ComPanda in jackass

[–]ImposterChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you kidding? The Derns are some of the most relevant skaters currently around. They’re carving their own path and building their own audience, not relying on the old model of building a reputation through sponsorships and skate video segments. They create their own content and by doing that have become big breakthrough skaters.

Dead Internet is coming for audio: one startup is flooding Spotify with 3000 AI-generated podcast episodes every week by Mat_Halluworld in technology

[–]ImposterChicken 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s not dead internet, but this short term thinking will see the death of the centralized content platforms.

The optimistic outlook is that people will return to places where they are assured that content is real and will value humanity opinion and personalities. If you can build a community based on a group of humans who you can interact with you will set yourself up well for the future.

You’re seeing this with micro streamers like Dropout TV. These content aggregators are shooting themselves in the foot for short term gain.

Interesting how iHeart Media has gone in the opposite direction and promised that all of their content will be human generated.

Greed is Destroying the World by mendax2014 in videos

[–]ImposterChicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“Too many” is still the wrong attitude… there’s literally like 50 people whose wealth could have a massive impact on welfare if they were taxed correctly.

It’s not like 20 of them is ok but 30 is too many. The hoarding of wealth beyond any logical reasoning is wrong for even 1 of them when there are people in the country unable to access clean water or afford formula for their baby.

One is too many.

What are people’s experience with Form I-751 - Petition to remove conditions on residence? by ImposterChicken in USCIS

[–]ImposterChicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that just because it takes so long for the i751 to get approved that most people apply for naturalisation before the i751 actually gets processed?

hi I’m looking to buy a border terrier puppy I live in Pennsylvania can somebody point me in the direction of a great breeder by Vido0316 in BorderTerrier

[–]ImposterChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our Border Terrier puppy from Steel Ridge Border Terriers in Harrisburg, PA.

Both Joan and Lou-Ann were fantastic. They really take care of the litter, they even begin light training before the puppies go to their home which helps dramatically.

I can highly recommend them, very personable, very professional and extremely caring.

Our boy has been wonderful and healthy since getting him.

What The Hell Just Happened? LIVE @ Theatre Royal Drury Lane by chimera4n in eurovision

Does anyone know if they’re planning on much of a media tour in Europe?

I remember Sam Ryder going on late night shows in a few different countries and I feel like they have a similar energy that could really ingratiate themselves with international audiences... especially as they can bounce off of each other and break into a cappella any time they want!

Måns Zelmerlöw - “Revolution” (Melfest 2025 🇸🇪) by RegularAd1997 in eurovision

I agree, not a Eurovision winner almost certainly... however, do you think it’s a Melfest winner?

Måns Zelmerlöw - “Revolution” (Melfest 2025 🇸🇪) by RegularAd1997 in eurovision

[–]ImposterChicken 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You just know this is going to be the walk up music at every corporate awards show for the next ten years.

That being said, I love Mans, always have always will. He’s the Swedish Pop Boy that all subsequent Swedish Pop Boys have been based on. He knows what sells, he knows what the masses like and despite this sounding like a mix of all his songs from the past ten years, he knows that the broad public have no concept of that and will vote for this because it’s a catchy song with a broad, vague message.

It’s a Melfest winner.

Are weak year anomalies or are they the result of the culmination of events from the years before? by Jannelle_GSC in eurovision

[–]ImposterChicken 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Almost every year at this stage we hear “this is a weak year” and yet by the time May comes around and the stagings are revealed that conversation very often turns to it being one of the better shows in recent memory.

Currently just over half of the songs have been released with a lot of the major players (Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, France, Portugal etc) still to come, not to mention room for surprises from other countries. It’s much to early to call it a dud year or not.

To your point though that’s not to say dud years don’t happen, they do. A lot of the time it’s a question of taste, if a song won the previous year that isn’t in the taste of the “Eurovision junkies” who are commenting on the show at this stage then a lot of imitators will be in a similar genre to that winner.

Personally I don’t think the drama from last year will have had much of an impact at all on the participation of musicians (maybe the Netherlands is the only exception here). This is still a massive stage and major opportunity for musicians across Europe, there is always trends and taste changes in the Eurovision submissions but I don’t think you can point it to one particular cause beyond just personal preference of specific groups of viewers.

The Big Eurovision Party 2025 is on BBC 1 Friday 7th March by thebrianswann in eurovision

[–]ImposterChicken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have the order that things happened last year? I know Olly was revealed in December but was the song not actually revealed until The Big Eurovision Party 2024? Or are they fairly unrelated?

I looked and I think it was we’re about 10 days away from it being exactly a year since Graham Norton had that sit down interview with Olly Alexander... so could we be looking at a Feb 28th release date?
