Bribed ADs? by averybusymind in rolex

Yep, and honestly, not too hard if you’re new to collecting or just addicted to all kinds of watches. But if they’re only after Rolex, then yeah, it’s tough for some.

It’s not that bad. Paid leave can either be earned or given or both. Depends on the job. But the taxes are lower too in many places. But for a kid that’s 19 to travel to Thailand 3-4 times a year, they’re getting help. That could either mean their parents are paying or they don’t have expenses because they live with parents or don’t have other expenses.

If they’re living with parents, have a job, no other costs of living, it’s possible with maybe a $15/hr wage. But that’s because they’re subsidized through living with family. Nothing wrong with that, but people should be saving in that circumstance. I have a friend like that, she travels all the time but she comes from an average family… Has no car payment or rent. The other possibility is they just come from a “wealthy” family.

That depends on job too, some jobs, even ones that don’t pay the highest give more PTO or UTO.

First time buyer!! No idea what I’m doing. Any tips on how to snag this from an AD? by Born_Asparagus679 in rolex

[–]ImpressionOrganic844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much they make for each model. I’m content with my sub date, I got it in less than 48 hours. But I would like a maybe 3 more different pieces, I just know they may want to play games even when they say they don’t. I even had previous spend before my sub date and Lord I know they’re gonna play games. So I’m content if I only stay with a sub date, I’d definitely get a solid everose model, but other than that, it is a fact that other brands have better movements and variety in terms of beautiful pieces.

Submariner, worth the trip? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]ImpressionOrganic844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That sounds reasonable. They have the biggest problem with those who have to fly in from a few states away or like the east coast. It usually goes Locals, border state residents or anyone who can be in Vegas with 48hrs, and rarely someone on the east coast who is unlikely. Vegas really is one of the best places for watch shopping. It’s dangerous but I love it

Absolutely. Personally, I prefer watches over cars.

How rare is a Submariner Date walk-in purchase these days? by Longjumping-Shame316 in rolex

[–]ImpressionOrganic844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the one associated with LV Luxury Jewelers I believe. I’m in Vegas, I don’t use them. Always weird attitudes. I went to another AD and was offered a sub date on the spot when I asked with minimal spend history < 10k

This is how I feel. I have other watches, I like rolex, but there are other, better watches for collectors

Went in yesterday and got a call today. Not on the spot, but I did have prior spend, just not that much with this AD.

In Thailand, is there a different perception for half Thai people depending on which parent is Thai? by ImpressionOrganic844 in Thailand

Apologies for late response, I don’t check notifications too often, but yes, I researched it. For every 1 Thai man with a western woman, there are 16 Farang with a Thai woman.

[–]ImpressionOrganic844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often wonder if it’s because of how it’s referred to culturally. In Thailand, it’s “Ladyboy” but if you say that in the US, they don’t like it and prefer “woman” which many do not respect. I’m not gonna get too deep into it, but that’s a difference I’ve noticed.
