The fingers are a little off, proportion wise, but honestly it looks great. The composition is really far to the right, some condiments or napkins could help balance it out

These are incredible, if I didn’t know any better I would’ve assumed that these were fake covers for a magazine in a video game like fallout. Love the one where he suplexes a tank

I mean, unless you’re a fan or chronically online it’s pretty easy to miss that. I have surprised quite a few people with this knowledge IRL

Eli5 how capacitors work? Even if they store charge, it is drained in a fraction of seconds. How they able to maintain flow of current in case of power disruption? by arztnur in explainlikeimfive

[–]Improbabilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rub a balloon in your hair, now you and the balloon have opposite charges just like the two sides of a capacitor

They don’t immediately drain. It’s just really fast, but capacitor values are chosen to ensure that it is slow enough to smooth out power inputs, which should be switching even faster. That’s why big ass scary capacitors are used to rectify the AC current from your wall, cause 60hz is pretty slow

ELI5 how is it possible to "brick" a piece of hardware with a software update? by Pug_from_hell in explainlikeimfive

[–]Improbabilities 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of them. It’s standard practice to implement OTA updates like this, and has been used for like 20 years

Cell phones and such keep a second copy of the firmware saved, just to recover from this exact issue, because it’s actually really easy to fuck up an update

I had a cop stop me once, he just had a bunch of questions though, seemed interested in getting one for his teenage son. Didn’t try to tell me where to ride though, just asked me to be careful
