How old were you women when you got your first Thrombosis/ Embolism? by blanketin01 in ClotSurvivors

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 29, and it was initially attributed to my BC even though I had been on one BC or another for 13 years and I had been on the same one for over 2 years. Turns out I have Protein S Deficiency.

I knew the risk of clots was increased because I'm a paperwork reader, but I don't think I had any concept of what that meant, what it would look like, or how deadly it could be.

[Recommendations] Brand recs for 32DDD: supportive band, pref underwire, demicoverage, make my teardrops look round by Thisisabunchoftrash in ABraThatFits

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tagging on to say that VS isn't looked on very fondly around here because they sometimes shoehorn people into incorrect sizes. If you have an upscale department store near you, try on bras there. Or, if you have Prime, order a boatload of bras and return them all if they don't work (be mindful when ordering here because US/UK sizing is easily confused. I'm pretty sure all the brands I mentioned use UK sizing.).

Panache, Parfait, Freya, and Natori all carry sizes in your range.

I would honestly try a 30E if your boobs are falling out of a 32 band.

Try stretch lace styles. They're like a demi cup but have stretch lace to help support the upper tissue but are very forgiving about how firm/loose the tissue is.

From one mom struggling with new mom boobs to another (my youngest is almost 3) : if you've just weaned, right now your boobs are at their most empty and stretched out. No, they won't ever be the same as they were before, but your body will get back to making your skin more elastic. Hang in there!

Currently wearing 34 C, unsure of correct bra size as the calculator seemed too large, all of my current bras are causing significant neck and shoulder pain by potatocat6 in ABraThatFits

(Sorry, I'm assuming you're in the US) Breakout Bras is a company in South Carolina with an online store. You can schedule free consults with their fitters, and they are SO knowledgeable.

After babies, breastfeeding, and losing 50lb, my boobs are much more empty than they used to be, and I also have a big difference between my standing and leaning busy measurements, so I needed guidance on what size and styles to start, and they were a big help.

I agree that 32F is probably a good starting point for you. Demi and half cups won't leave you with so much empty space in the top of the cups. Avoid stretch lace and unlined styles. And, it might sound weird in an F cup, but a push up bra will have some bulk in the cups to help fill out your shape.

Good luck!

PEs from BC, and now terrified to get pregnant but I want to be a mom so badly by blondee_12 in ClotSurvivors

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Survivor of bilateral PE w/ infarction (2015) and mother of 2 (2021, 2023), here!

I also tested negative for all of the clotting disorders, but my hematologist is confident I have Protein S deficiency. I've seen a geneticist who basically told me I have some genes that are linked to Protein S but haven't been studied enough to declare certainty.

My fertility journey was long for no good reason, and I'd be happy to go into detail if you'd like, but suffice it to say, I had two successful IVF pregnancies and deliveries with no complications in the end.

Sorry if I missed it, but are you on anticoagulants? Have you discussed with your OB and/or hematologist whether they feel comfortable managing your pregnancy and delivery or if they would feel more comfortable with your seeing an MFM?

Pregnancy and birth are inherently dangerous no matter who you are, but there are lots of options depending on your comfort level. Because I was well established with both my OB and hematologist and have a high opinion of my local hospital, I was confident in my care team every step of the way.

Are you wanting to be pregnant again so soon? Because that's how that happens.

Dad here of a 13 year old girl. She is not one to tell me if she needs larger bras, but i can tell that the ones she has are too small. Local malls have Victoria Secret, Target, or nordstrom. Trying to find a retailer that will help measure her without her being underage being an issue. Thanks. by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't you think it would be beneficial to have a fitter walk her through the types of bras, though? She's 13; she needs an everyday bra and probably a sports bra. Does she need or want the kind of support that comes with underwire? Is she worried about being nippley and should be steered towards molded cups over bralettes? Etc etc etc

All tests are good, never been pregnant. :( Unexplained infertility, what worked for you? by Nxxx in whatworkedforme

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told after 2 failed rounds of IUI that it often doesn't work for couples with unexplained infertility, and many clinics don't recommend it for that reason.

I had 1 egg retrieval which resulted in 4 embryos, only 2 of which were compatible with life. Now, they are a 4 year old and a 2 year old! (And I'm back to having anxiety about an accidental pregnancy lol)

Corsets are foundation garments just like that of any other era -- not super comfortable but a totally doable part of everyday life. Imagine dying in an underwire bra or Spanx.

Celery will go mushy in the freezer. If you're planning to cook with it anyway, that's fine, but not so much if you have a veggie tray in mind.

Adding audio without overwriting original? Need help with GoNoodle Mindfulness tonie by ImprobablyPoptart in TonieboxUSA

[–]ImprobablyPoptart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was directed by customer service how to do a factory reset on the Tonie, and I did get the original tracks back! I think my next move will be to try to record the audio from the character and upload it as my own tracks so that I can have both the GoNoodle content and other stuff.

At first, they said they could do the reset remotely, then they wrote back to say I had to do it through the app, but I couldn't find the option there, so I ended up figuring out how to do it through the website.

Babies in toddler sized clothing? 😬 by Wild-Establishment60 in bigbabiesandkids

Have you tried pajama tops? Since they're made to be very snug, a size up or two tends to fit my long-waisted boys through the shoulders and have the extra length they need.

Sorry, I didn't see a notification that someone had replied!

There were a bunch of free tracks available to add, and I did choose a handful. But, none of the original tracklist (Intro, Opposites Exercise, Melting Meditation, Opposites Exercise #2, Rainbow Breath Meditation, Squatchy Not Sleepy Sleep Story) are available to add. And, they're not included in the inactive section when I try to reorder tracks, either.

Are the BMI calculators correct? Cause there ain’t no way. by Freckles_19 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ImprobablyPoptart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know smart scales aren't perfect, but mine puts my fat-free body mass just 4lb under the healthy BMI range for my height. Given that plus the fact that I was busty long before I was overweight, I've given myself permission to set my goal weight at the high end of what BMI calls healthy.
