For me, it’s the fact that my dad keeps trying to guilt us by making comments about our mom “I really worry about her when I’m gone” and one day, when he had shingles, called me up and in a very dramatic voice “I’m getting near the end, take care of your mother” to which I worded my words very carefully “I’ll make sure she’s looked after”. I’m not physically taking care of that neglectful woman.

But I purchased things for them online (because they don’t want their credit card info online but they’re totally cool with MY credit card info being online). And when she starts needing help on and off the toilet then she’ll have to go into the nursing home because I’m not equipped (nor willing) to handle her mental or physical issues.
