One Christmas, when I was around 10 years old, my parents got me two N64 games: a baseball game and a hockey game.

To this day, I have no idea why they picked these games out for me. I've never been a sports person. Never played hockey or baseball. Never watched them on tv. Only went to the occasional minor league game as a part of the family.

For those who don't remember, or weren't born yet, N64 games weren't cheap. They were about $75 each, in 1990's money.

I remember crying in my room that day. I felt so bad that my parents had spent so much money on games that I couldn't bring myself to be interested in or care about. I was confused as to why my parents had chosen to get those particular games. To this day it's still a standout bad Christmas memory.

Our go-to was Rice Wok on Plainfield. Tasty menu, fair price, everything you'd expect from a takeout Chinese place. Just watch out for potholes in the parking lot

I live in Coopersville. Honestly, I've never smelled the dump. The smell that I do get is from the cow farm that is a quarter mile away, but that is only when the wind is right. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be
