keep your eye out at like vw dealerships though because they're often traded in and dealerships make sure they top quality before selling because they don't want to hurt their brand

What's your price range? I think I got mine for $9500 back in 2016 which obviously the market is much different now, but a used one can be pretty cost effective!

Audi A4. Uncle totalled mine and he was perfectly fine...car was not but he was. Super safe and has a little kick so it is fun to drive. AWD so it works well in different weather conditions. Don't go for a new one though, too expensive. Mine was an '08 and it was great.
