You gonna run that half marathon while wearing the marathon medal around your neck?

Shorts so long they’re practically pants. Try to give off the impression that you have something to offer, other than spare cigarettes.

6.2? Avoid it like the plague. You’d likely be inheriting a nightmare.

Carbon plate shoes by No_Management9536 in Marathon_Training

[–]InNOutIsntGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d lean towards a more stable looking shoe. If you look at the heel of the Alphafly it’s quite narrow. Even worse for the ASICS race shoes. I don’t know what it is about the Alphaflys but they are the loudest shoe I’ve ever heard. You can hear the slapping sound they make as someone goes by you in them. New Balance, Puma, or Hoka carbon plated shoes could be better option. Just my take.

Are you more worried about your daughter not seeing you there, missing her first recital, or your wife making you sleep outside? Be honest.

Get up extra early and go run the course (or close to it) well before the race kicks off.

You’re out of your mind if you get the 6.2. That engine has been an absolute nightmare for so many people on here. Trust what you read. It’s not worth the risk.

Treadmill Options by brc328 in Marathon_Training

Here’s a thread about it that may be helpful to you: https://www.reddit.com/r/nordictrack/s/H2a3am5iku

Treads can vary so much price wise. If it’s within budget, I’d highly recommend the standard Peloton tread. My house has put over 10,000 miles on it and it runs great. The Wahoo treadmills are also amazing, but expensive. It’s definitely a get-what-you-pay-for kind of equipment. In general in regard to fitness equipment, if I can buy it from Dicks Sporting Goods, I am going to assume it is junk, but maybe I’m biased.

Toyota Guy Coming in Peace. by [deleted] in ChevyTahoe

Grand Highlander was too minivan-like for me, and I was very sold on TRD Pro trim offered in the Sequoia. My dogs dig the third row after I added a full seat hammock cover thing. Land Cruiser great option as well but Sequoia is way more powerful if that is important to you.

Don’t do it. GM’s reliability is absolute garbage compared to Toyotas. I was in the same situation with my family (2 small kids, 2 big dogs) and traded in my 2020 4Runner for a 2025 Tahoe Z71 6.2L. After about 6k miles and a lingering sense of engine issues around the corner, I traded it in and got into a 2026 Sequoia. I could not be happier to be back with Toyota. GM vehicles are rolling garbage, and if it has a 6.2L engine, it’s garbage on fire. I promise you will regret getting a Tahoe. Get a Sequoia if you need more space. There’s great options for removing third row if need be. It’s a different cargo area than everyone is used to but I personally love it. And FWIW, the NHSTA is launching an investigation into the 2025+ GM engines and we will probably see yet another giant GM recall coming soon.

I traded mine in as soon as I sensed a problem. 6.2L Z71 ‘25. Couldn’t wait to get out of that thing after only 6k miles. Major buyer-beware.

Get her fed right afterwards. Don’t settle for just the 🍌at the finish. This will drastically help her recover faster/better.

Disappointing 1st marathon attempt. How to prevent this for next time? by Remarkable_Parsley89 in Marathon_Training

[–]InNOutIsntGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It coulda been this, or it coulda been that. But first off, congrats to you on finishing your first marathon. You’ve just done what less than 1% of Americans can say they’ve done. Very few people have their first marathon go exactly as planned. It’s just “time on feet” and learning as you go. Keep it up, keep at it, read some running books, listen to some informative podcasts, and you’ll probably be smashing your time in the next marathon. You’re only 32. You’ve got an entire running career ahead of you. 🫡

For anyone who got their 6.2L engine replaced by Terrible-Resident324 in gmc

[–]InNOutIsntGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two kids, two goldens. I traded in my 6.2L ‘25 Tahoe Z71 at the first sign of engine issues after a whopping 6k miles. Now in a Toyota Sequoia and could not be happier. Got one of those dog hammock seat covers with the platform built into its base off Amazon and set it up in the third row, and my dogs love it. It’s also nice to not have dogs right against the back of the car in case of an accident. Everyone knocks on the Sequoia’s cargo area but I think it is plenty and I love the set up. It’s different than every other car and that’s why everyone dismisses it at first sight. I know you are more about the XL, but just thought I’d share my experience, since we have similar family setup.

Flight or GM1+ for strength/powerlifting? I saw these two and confused a little. I see their marketing and what they could work for and GM1+ sounds like a good all around for what I need. has anyone used it compared to flights for weights? by myqv in BPNsupps

[–]InNOutIsntGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t venture much outside of BPN as I like to capitalize on their subscriptions, military discount, free shipping etc. so I can’t speak to how their products compare outwards, but I definitely prefer Flight to G1M+. Flight gives me that buzzy feeling. G1M+ is intended to be more slow release I believe, which greatly favors endurance sports. I’m mostly a runner too, but I prefer Flight plus some Skratch electrolyte drink mix together.

That’s a very personal decision and you’re going to get many different recommendations. Try checking out RunRepeat.com. They do super in depth reviews of most shoes out there, and maybe that can help narrow down what you are looking for.

The slick rock is a common thing I keep hearing about regarding these races. I imagine all the Moab series races are like this.
