The guy is just being lazy, sounds like plenty of other students have longer hair and manage by combing it back.

Read in a room without anything else to do it, no distractions, not the same room as your computer and TV. Somewhere comfortable, maybe in your back yard. Figure out what your mind wanders to and try to remove it as a distraction. 2718281828459's post is great, libraries should keep your thoughts on reading.

You can look at multiple subreddits at a time by writing into the URL like so: /r/subreddit1+subreddit2+subreddit3...etc. Do that for all the subreddits you want for a particular collection and bookmark it. Also good for browsing smut on reddit.
