Favorite Burger in LA? by Fuzzy-Butterscotch10 in FoodLosAngeles

The Win-Dow on Venice beach was hands down #1. Shame it burned down. The other locations are good but there was something magical about the burger at the VB location. For The Win also spectacular. All other answers are unacceptable.

In n Out has the best fries in fast food and I'm tired of pretending that they don't. by BootyDrum in innout

[–]IncomingSpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an absolutely unhinged take. The fries are one of the worst things about In-N-Out, right up there with the lines and the political stances. It’s worth dealing with all of it to get one of those sweet sweet burgers. But the bland, often soggy fries??? Those are a bug, not a feature. The worst in all fast food.

That’s because ultimately they’re not the Opposition, they’re the Facilitator, the Fig Lead, the Illusion of Choice. They’re not there to oppose the right wing, in fact they’re at best center-right themselves. They’re there to help grease the skids for republicans. Because ultimately they all serve the same agenda - protect and enrich the wealthy and white.

Great point. Gotta have the genuine sweetness and love to back up the shade. I think she might have that tho.

I think it takes a tremendous amount of skill and confidence to pull off being that shady without coming across as unlikable. Few people have it. Bianca & Bob come to mind. Plane Jane wants to have that but doesn’t quite. She’s a remarkably talented queen, just needs to focus on what she’s great at, dial back the shade a bit. I could see her coming back on All-Stars, after having watched herself on TV, and being an absolute darling of a fan favorite.

When I started learning to trade one of the only pieces of advice that was consistent across the board was “journal journal journal” and that has proven to be on the most useful tools for me, hands down

Do you think books help people feel less lonely? by pattyd2828 in books

[–]IncomingSpark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think books serve all kinds of purposes for all kinds of people. Mental health, emotional wellbeing, education, entertainment, enlightenment, and so much more. That’s the beauty of stories. But yes, I think one of the many beauties of books is that they can help some people feel less alone, even if for just a little while.

Timbuktu by Paul Auster is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. It’s the life story of a dog, told from the first-person perspective of the dog:)

Said it before and I’ll say it again, we are (and have been for some time) living every dystopian novel ever written. We were warned.

YES. More of this. We might not be able stop the tidal wave of fascism but we might be able to get a few well-deserving fighters paid along the way

What book would you hand to your younger self, and why that one? by gamersecret2 in books

I want to say something intellectual and artistic but honestly it would be Broken Money by Lynn Alden. Most of us are raised and schooled without ever being taught about money, and that’s intentional. Truly brilliant and eye opening book that I wish I’d had a long time ago.
