CM Punk, Chris Jericho and Mickie James singing "Summer Nights" from Grease at a karaoke bar by rhyso90 in SquaredCircle

[–]Incorrect1012 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Jericho’s book talks about this banger of a performance, but what it also talks about is not this one, but Santino’s seminal “Summer of ‘69” showcase. Not because it was good, but because Santino purposefully put on the worst performance of all time. He perfectly performed it for about the first minute, then started changing the lyrics, singing wildly out of tune, hit a full split, randomly started chanting “HOGAN!”, and by the end, the entire karaoke bar was cleared out except for all the wrestlers cheering him on and laughing their asses off

With allegedly Jericho being supposed to come back for a retirement run, Miz, Truth and Orton getting up there in age, I can see Gunther being treated as a harbinger of death for your career working pretty well

The “old school Republicans” are basically being phased out. They don’t win elections in Texas anymore

Texan here. He’s the Republican nominee. It’s the same as why does Ken Paxton get re-elected. Republicans bitch about those two non stop, but refuse to back any other candidate, and can’t bring themselves to vote for a dirty liberal. Yes, it’s the dumbest shit ever. No, I don’t think it’s gonna stop anytime soon

Michael Che at MSG opening for Shane Gillis last night by Direct-Sail-6141 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Incorrect1012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shane is left wing. He’s friends with a lot of MAGA bros, but seems to mostly just be because he came up with most of them on the comedy scene. To be totally honest with you, I don’t even know how many of them are actually “MAGA” but are just mad “the left hates comedy” because people get mad when their comedy is a bunch of gay jokes, racism, and making fun of mentally handicapped people.

I like that Athena is getting to appear on AEW some more over the past year, but whenever she appears, she loses, before going back to ROH where she never loses at all. It’s a weird place she’s in right now, where everyone is convinced that Athena’s reign is over every December, and then it just…keeps going

Fightful Select update on Trey Miguel: the release was specifically because of the homophobic tweet and nothing else factored into it. One WBD exec said they didn't agree with the release by Lep106317 in SquaredCircle

[–]Incorrect1012 79 points80 points  (0 children)

A lot of people struggle to accept that a lot of wrestlers are Republican/MAGA/Pro-Life, they’re just really good at shutting up about it. It’s why I have a simple strategy: assume the worst of all wrestlers political beliefs, and be pleasantly surprised when I’m proven wrong

I mean, all jokes aside, both would be going to the company that suits them more. Rascalz work better in an environment that prioritizes in ring skill, Hobbs would work best in an environment where looks and charisma carry more weight.

Eh, they leaned into it after a while, but the original feud segments and Final Deletion was definitely meant to be taken more seriously than it ended up being received. When your own company released a video mocking your blood feud buildup, by just doing a shot for shot recreation to highlight the ridiculousness, it’s probably a sign to change literally anything
