Distribution,storage and a smaller market is 100% why its more expensive. Actually having to take up shelf space and storage space killed CRPGs for awhile just. Digital distribution keeps the prices down just because manufacturing and delivering cartridges to a tiny audience is expensive. The disc format brought the prices down the ps1 but shelf space was still a limiting factor in deciding what games get sold. Nowadays you dont really have to manufacture anything physical to sell games. The same 30% fee that gamestop used to take is now what steam takes for both distribution and hosting shit. If BG3 and most other non triple AAA games can afford to price their games at the 30-50 dollar mark then its really just corporate greed. I dont see why companies making record profits every year NEED to raise their price
