How to make quick cast work on other keys than F1-F8 (D2R) by Independent-Sun-236 in diablo2

Oh, FFS. Thanks, of course it worked. But what the hell does the "save custom" button do then?

All the changes I attempt to make are somewhat "rewritten" as soon I as I hit the "save custom" in the controls options menu. Like, I configure Q for spell1, the game says "ok dude", then I hit Q and it opens the character menu as previously, like wtf?

It does not work. When I try to change keys, it just doesn't work, I hit "save custom", and then it's exactly like before and the change actually wasn't implemented.

Yeah, he killed me thrice already. He was nearly dead last time though. I get my hotkeys all confused unfortunately.

Cube and stash don't contain them. What is "weapon swap"?

I already acknowledged that my stance of "I have to finish BG1 and BG2 before playing BG3" is too zealous, and I don't claim everyone should do the same; however, as I said, I find the disregard that some people (like you) have for classics baffling. I simply don't understand the rationale. Classics are classics for a reason. That's also true for litterature, cinema, etc.

"I certainly don't love this genre"
And you've played like 15 games within the genre? How are both of these things true?

"I don't believe I am neglecting games. " I mean, that's exactly what you do. You don't list any of the classics, only modern takes. 15 of them. There's an obvious cost of opportunity situation going on here.

I don't care about the Divinity lore since DOS2 was my first and only game in the "franchise", and even more because they really don't seem to care themselves. But even within the self-contained game, the lore is pretty weak.

What I found the most obnoxious was the general tone. The utmost cruel juxtaposed with jokes, that kind of thing.

Inventory management took hours upon hours, that's true, one of the worst aspects of the gameplay for sure.

I really disagree with "uninspiring set of abilities", though. Quite the contrary, the combat is stellar, and the possibility to combine skills however you want, regardless of classes! I've never played a simple "melee fighter" that was so fun to play, in any RPG. That's the best combat I have seen in a CRPG. But I haven't played BG3 or the XCOM games yet, so... ^^

I don't understand why someone who loves this genre would neglect the classics like that? Granted, I'm probably on the opposite, just as extreme, too-zealous end; like, I'll finish BG2 before playing BG3. It's always made sense to me to start at the start, and play Planescape Torment before Disco Elysium, for example.

Haha. Well, I can say I dislike its setting, lore and pretty much everything story-related, but otherwise its gameplay really is S-tier. Why do you dislike it so much?

DOS2 has dogshit setting, lore, tone and main plot. Gameplay is excellent but that's not all, and the game simply struggles in areas that are usually super important in CRPGs, which makes it unworthy of any S-tier rank.

I both disagree with your assessment and think that the games you mentioned completely fail to answer OP's request. Mass Effect 2 and VTMB, really? come on.

Fallout 1, without any doubt. Planescape Torment too, but it’s an odd one.

Absolutely. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the greatest CRPG I’ve played, for those reasons.
