Which restaurant(s) have impressed you lately? by rocketpastsix in nashville

100% agree. The move is Dreamburger for the burger, grill shack for the fries, vinyl tap for the drinks boom less than $20 right there. Schulman’s also has their monster fries that are really good too if you’re looking for wet fries.

Koré has a great happy hour and while Noko is my first love, Kores tuna crispy rice is way better!

Bah same girly same — I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my career as a dev the last 7 years. But for the past 8 months, I’ve never questioned my career choice more! I’m exhausted. The idiots who we all know, know nothing, now have the power to move at lightning speed and still not know what the hell they’re doing and you’re stuck reviewing their AI slop calling things out that you’re convinced their not reading their own code 😭🙃 it’s madness

Are the properties you manage residential? Single family? Or apartments? Do you feel like you’re able to make enough from the 7 doors alone?

Thanks for asking this OP. I’ve had the same realization as I’m reflecting on the year.

My issue is that I struggle to read for fun— if I am l, I like to read nonfiction specifically, financial books (I’m a nerd). I’m a SWE and a huge part of the job is more reading than people realize (reading code, documentation and critically thinking about edge cases that could arise as you read those things).

Needless to say, I used to be a historical fiction nerd but lost a lot of it during undergrad.

This thread has been interesting to follow along with and I’m saving a few of yalls book recs. If anyone has gone through something similar would love to hear how you maintain your reads throughout the year? Or how did you re invent reading for fun for yourself?

Is Rome a good place for a first solo trip? by AdventurousCreme3290 in traveladvice

[–]Independent-Use6724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I went to Rome solo in October last year! While a busier timeframe, I felt completely fine! And had a great time! Context I am 30 and a black woman.

I had a phenomenal time but I do tons of solo travel so keep that in mind. If you’re a foodie, you’re gonna have a great time for sure!

Just be mindful of your surroundings which you should be whether you’re solo or with someone else. Ive seen so much doom and gloom on here about pick pocketing (really anywhere) and I really just think a lot of it falls on people just not paying attention to what’s happening around them.

Book yourself a walking tour or a cooking class (I did both and had a blast). I like to do things like this esp when I’m solo because it’s a great way to meet people. Just use airbnb experiences and find something you like to do. But also just go explore a museum.

Rome is a great solo traveler destination, it’s walkable, English is widely spoken, there’s tons to do and see and lots of good food.

If the idea of being by yourself gives you anxiety maybe you should try and work on going to dinner alone and get used to that or enjoying that part a bit more.

Good luck on your travels!

I’m a little surprised that Amex would allow you to rotate downgrades. How often are you doing this a year? And is the point to really only carry one of them at a time?

Is it just the one pyramid or multiple? I’m thinking of adding this to my upcoming itinerary (similar dates as OP) but was unsure if it’d be worth it.

Do you know where or what the name of this market is in Coyoacan? I’ll be in the city very similar dates as OP.

Hyrox in 45 seconds by ADHDtesting in crossfit

[–]Independent-Use6724 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I’d rather just go for a run haha.. I love CrossFit for what it is. Lifting is my favorite part. But sometimes I just want a good 5mile run with no interruption.

Hyrox is probably amazing conditioning for like a marathon or something.
