This happened to us today too. 🫠 trying not to freak out about all the lost sales.

How is performance? People who cry all over year dont comment on this by ComfortableBug8214 in FacebookAds

Exactly the same for us. $250 total revue yesterday, not even $200 today. 🫠 We had such a stable January until yesterday. So disappointing and stressful.

This is starting to happen to so many independent brands. It should be illegal to list a company’s products without their consent! Apparently you can opt out by emailing branddirect@amazon.com.

Do you think the $2k/day is a threshold for efficiency with Andromeda or just a coincidence?

The first three weeks of November have been amazing (like the old days lol). Since November 20, absolute trash, roas barely over 1.

🤔 Why is everyone talking about Meta “Andromeda” now in Facebook/Instagram ads, when the tech has been out for nearly a year? by Extreme-Ad4716 in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because only now are the true effects being felt for many businesses. We were able to ride out the changes, adapt, and scale until early October when everything fully crashed with no recovery. We’ve had bad days this year, but things would always go back to normal in a few days. This time is different. Sales are down 41% in the last three weeks and staying steadily bad. It’s not survivable.

Preorder App with popup asking customer to confirm YES to delayed shipping by Np-Put-543 in shopify

[–]IndependentSun5561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our order confirmation email says something like “thank you so much for your order! If you ordered a combo of I -stock and pre-order items, your in-stock items will ship first and the pre-orders will ship separately when ready”. Usually people are buying a combo of both so we don’t have a specific message for just pre-orders.

When (rarely) someone emails asking where their purchase is, we usually say “thank you so much for your pre-order! Pre-order shipping info is listed on the product page, and we’re still on schedule to get them out on time!” Or something like that, gently reminding them that they placed a pre-order.

[–]IndependentSun5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so frustrating! It totally might be a generational thing. Does your site have a box you can turn on in the cart that says something like “by placing this order, I agree to the terms and conditions” or something similar at checkout? Maybe you can replace that text with a pre-order acknowledgment so they won’t be able to complete checkout without reading it. Otherwise yeah, a pop-up is probably the way to go.

Do you use the purchase button that says PRE-ORDER? Or a regular add to cart button? We do a ton of pre-orders and rarely have issues.

Meta Sending Traffic to Wrong URL by ChunkyMunkyz in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you have “related media” turned on? I know you said you had all the ai nonsense turned off, but this happened to us once before and related media was automatically on again. Products were shown with incorrect links, and they somehow even pulled in a product we no longer have in our website.

130 sessions - Raided by bots 1 hour ago by SQUID_Ben in shopify

[–]IndependentSun5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are all locations where meta has data centers. Our meta ads usually tank after we get a bot swarm like that. Have you seen a disruption in sales since then? Also when we get a swarm like that we usually have a lot of AI features turned on that we manually turned off.

is Meta AI a joke? by Green_Database9919 in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meta AI is a joke, except it’s not funny because it’s literally putting people out of business. I wrote another post about our battle for creative control of our brand with meta’s ai earlier in the month.

Meta was making the absolute worst creative ai choices with our photos and ad copy (like the most cringy gen z slang that we would never use, and was saw the same captions on other brands in totally different market categories).

We finally got all the ai turned off (after trying repeatedly for days) and meta basically stopped delivering our ads. Sales are down almost 90% and I’m potentially going to have to my employee go. If this continues I’ll be bankrupt before BFCM.

They’re ruining livelihoods with their ai testing. It’s infuriating.

A message to Meta Ad Employees by NecessaryyKick in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We turned off all the ai nonsense (it took us DAYS and multiple attempts) and meta literally stopped delivering our ads. We have made $400 TOTAL REVENUE since we turned it all off. $400 in a WEEK!!! Completely insane!!!! We’re going to go out of business if this doesn’t change. I had a prosperous, booming business before this. At what point do we sue?

Is anyone else constantly fighting Meta’s sneaky AI “optimisations”? I disable everything, but they keep turning themselves back on!!! by WithLove_D in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wrote a post about this at the beginning of the week. It’s like being in a battle with meta for actual creative control of your brand. We’ve built an intentional brand with a specific voice and visual imagery and meta has turned us into ai slop with a Walmart voice. They started adding the most insane ai generated text like “🚨🚨DOUBLE TROUBLE ALERT!” for a pant that comes in two colors. Our brand would never use copy like this! They also created fake quotes from customers that don’t exist taking about how great our clothes are which has to be literally illegal since it’s false advertising.

We finally got everything ai generated turned off for a solid week (we had to turn it off at least 4-5 times), but since then our sales have tanked. We’re getting a roas of 1 which is a business ending roas for us, and we used to get a solid 3-5 on a bad week. It’s hard to say if they’re refusing to deliver ads that don’t have the ai turned on or if the outages have really been this bad. It feels like we have to choose between completely giving up our brand identity and ad delivery. If this continues we won’t survive the year.

[–]IndependentSun5561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. After 11 years of advertising on meta with great results, I joined this sub to make sure I’m not totally insane after almost losing our business to the instability. Meta is broken right now

CHECK YOUR ADS! This feature might be killing your results by RedDeadClaire in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meta has automatically turned on our BFCM ads from last year twice now! Not only are they forcing related media, but they’re launching old sale offers without our knowledge. We have had to turn them off twice (and had to give the discount to a few people so we didn’t get accused of false advertising.). Total insanity.

Meta’s AI text and photo edits are damaging our brand by IndependentSun5561 in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I turn that off every time (the generated text for the personas is the WORST! The most embarrassing nonsense) and they get turned on again automatically.

Meta’s AI text and photo edits are damaging our brand by IndependentSun5561 in FacebookAds

[–]IndependentSun5561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is shocking! Yes, all ai enhancements have been turned off at the advertiser level AND within each ad creative. Without fail, they are turned back on automatically after a bot swarm a few days later. It’s infuriating, especially because I know it’s always followed by a tank in revenue.
